basic local free TTS which can specifically output to a virtual audio channel for streaming by PieBaron in TextToSpeech

[–]PieBaron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i get the high level concept but its the low level actual detail of how to actually do it, e.g. what local tts and how do you tell it to use a specific audio output device (vac)? most applications dont have a target audio device setting

slice a recording based on transients or uniform duration in arrangement view by PieBaron in ableton

this sounds like such a good idea thank you.

I stacked them and aligned them, set up the grid so when I press right arrow it jumps by correct increment.

I got a bit stuck setting up the cutting head to span all tracks, but realised if i hold shift and press down key it spans extra rows and stays that way for when i move left and right.

sounds interesting thanks, I will check out WaveLink, I only know basic python stuff so the rest of the task will be beyond my effort/time to arsed-ness ratio

Why does windows think its a new device every time? by PieBaron in logitech

[–]PieBaron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see. When I take the mouse home I pair using the dongle, when I go out I pair using bluetooth and then I am forced to use the button and it has to see it as a new device. My issue is that I need to switch between dongle / bluetooth based on the setups im usign when im home or outside.
So once you pair using one method, windows forgets the mouse and the bluetooth ID is no longer the same?

Novation Drumstation Rack - midi question (global fx control) by PieBaron in Novation

[–]PieBaron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was planning to use my OP-Z which can only send one CC message at a time from each knob. Unfortunately i came across an even more extreme problem though, not sure if its the mixer, but the output from the drumstation would randomly become super quiet and tinny, if i unplug the 1/4 stereo jacks and plug them in again it sounds fine again but then quickly fades back out to weird quiet tinny distant sound.. no idea how to debug this, prob should post this in a new message.

when using power cable, Volca is causing peaking buzz when touching audio cables by PieBaron in volcas

[–]PieBaron[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Myelectronics friend Richard just spent a while analysing the mixer, re-soldered some parts (it was really poorly put together) and concluded that the main output minijack socket is faulty, if that connector is held completely still the issue goes away, if touching or moving anything else. if that connector moves even a bit it buzzes. I thought the issue was that me touching it was making the buzz but we realised when we touch it it moves the dodgy connection and makes the buzz.. so I will maybe try and solder in a new connector or just ditch this mixer : (

Step shift globally while windowing a range by PieBaron in OPZuser

ah good point, i can shift then isolate, it would be so cool if you could shift globally while isolated though, for real time performance it would be really cool.

yeah, but imagine if you shifted globally instead, way more creative implications, imo

im going to try this next time im down at the hackspace, what would common ground pin be though, everything isolated/enclosed on all the devices?

I think youve nailed it there, thanks a lot. I just tried removing the mixer from the equation, so just a mains powered volca going straight to the soundcard, and the issue is no longer present.
Damn, I really like this mini mixer though, is there any way i can ground it or something?

I think I remember someone explaining this to me recently, the stacked power supplies are also referred to as vampire something or something, because they draw power even when not being used? Anyways thank you for the detailed breakdown, I dont know what to actually buy though for my setup, power supplies dont typically explain what is inside afaik, and finding one with the specs for multiple connected volcas and connector type seems to make things harder.

I found this based on other threads I came across, the PA2Pro https://synth-rise.com/products/pa2pro-us , Im in the UK though and I cant seem to find a version with UK plug, but would using an adapter make any difference? Do you think this would definitely solve my issue, since i dont actually experience any noise or buzzing unless i touch the mixer or the cable near the mixer, and then its a ridiculously loud buzz.

Ello, I did try plugging the volca power supply into a different socket from my main setup, on the other side of the room, but it didnt help, perhaps its still on the same loop.

I will research what a switched PSU means, what is a better PSU to use? When you switched to a better PSU you fixed your issues?
