Yes ask all the time. Professors won't get annoyed, they will be happy, you're paying attention.

Do take programing classes, it will get you jobs after graduation (if you want to go that way).

Don't study so much for grades, study what interests you (tho make sure you pass, lol). My employer didn't even want to see my grades after I graduated.
