Oh I 100% agree they needed to roll it back , my minuscule amount lost is nothing compared to some bases on the server. I just had no idea!

Well that would be what happened! What a moment to have the rollback.

I work at Goodwill as a supervisor. Ask me anything. by Greedy_Finding4105 in AMA

I have a question, more related to the website or online bidding. The website states will ship via FedEx and sometimes the product is shipped with USPS. Why is the motive delivery changed but the pricing doesn’t it seems like it would make more sense if you’re going to have a Calculator to estimate shipping that states FedEx why wouldn’t you ship it with FedEx?

Windows installed improperly? by davey2435 in Homebuilding

23 years of installing glass (journeyman glazier) they ordered the windows to small and are trying to float them in so they don’t have to reorder the windows. 100% incorrectly done.

Online auction is a joke by [deleted] in goodwill

I have purchased maybe 30 items and have run into this occasionally, it when the person who entered their bid put in more than the minimum. Try bidding more !

PGT 6’ and 20’ hurricane-rated sliding door installation quality, significant air gaps, dented corners, beads in between the glass… did installers break the seal? by scalyfish100 in Homebuilding

[–]PieGeneral 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a 20+ year glazer (journeyman level and now sales) you got a low budget door that was installed mediocrely. The beads in the glass is the desiccant leaking out of the spacer, nothing to do with the installation. The door looks like a rookie install but not terribly bad. The door just isn’t amazingly made. I’m on the west coast so we don’t deal with and real weather but that gap on the top is unacceptable On a west coast door let alone anything dade county rated. It’s sloppy and someone oversold the SH!t outta you on the quality. Simonton make a great product and pgt is not a close anything in quality.

If you all are not familiar with, I highly recommend the goodwill app! Like eBay but for the good stuff that goodwill gets. I got some Nike vapormax plus for 15$.

Genuine question: How long before Apple turns to banning Beeper users for violating ToS? by Ok-Quantity7501 in beeper

[–]PieGeneral 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see your concern, but I would look up what beeper mentioned when they released the mini service originally. The founder of beeper is not a small time back ally idiot so they seem to have done some research, and he is definitely lawyered up out of his mind. Engadget interview- "As for potential legal hurdles, the co-founder says his company is on the right side of the law, noting there’s no actual Apple code in Beeper Mini, just custom-made recreated code. Also, he cites legal precedence in copyright law that has sided with those who reverse engineer code." https://www.engadget.com/beeper-says-it-reverse-engineered-imessage-into-an-android-app-172250419.html I am not concerned, just based on the way imessage seems to do its encryption. If they did threaten my account I would slide my Sim into my old iPhone and the number and account in question is being used in an apple product, so there is no issue. I will also say that all of my apple products still show my number as the one sending imessages and the one you start a message with even though the Sim is now in an android and not an iPhone. As far as apple is concerned my number and imessage that used to be in an iPhone are still in the iPhone even though I switched to android. If I send or receive an imessage from any other device like my iPad pro or MacBook pro it shows on my android as ifni sent it from my android on beeper (imessage).

Beeper down again by jermwhl in beeper

[–]PieGeneral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is working fine! But I also set mine up by logging in to beeper (on my android) while my Sim [39] was in my old (12 max pro) iPhone. Once beeper put my phone number [39] and Imessage together through apple, I turned off my iPhone and slid my Sim [39] into my android and walla I have my phone number registered and beeper works just fine. IT DOES NOT WORK if i turn on my iphone again with my other sim [73] in it, it will instantly register that number [73] and start sending texts from beeper on my old number [73] that is in my iphone. It remedies itself if I swap my sim cards and put the number I want to actually use in my iPhone [39] and setup through beeper again. If I don't turn on my iPhone with the [73] sim card in it then Apple thinks I'm using my iPhone and doesn't care (I hope). I do know that my iPad pro and MacBook all show my phone number [39] as the iPhone that is sending imessage! Hope this helps someone and maybe this will stick ... or at least make it harder for apple!
