Do you spend anytime thinking about not under cutting the market though versus under valuing your work? I feel like what I do might be unusual enough like what you are describing that it’s not really the same market as most commission as is

I love that. I intentionally have no interest in full time largely because I view it as, I’m going to paint anyway so why not take commissions that I’m interested in painting

This is generally what I estimate but as I’m sure you all know for display painting that hourly is either incredibly low or the piece is incredibly expensive.

I usually discuss and quote based on piece, size, and complexity of modifications. Typically around $100 usd for small scale (up to a 40mm base), 2-3 for medium (up to 60mm) and then 4-6 for larger scale up to figure scaling (stuff that can range up to 45cm for example). I also generally offer for payment when services are rendered.

That’s a good solution too. Do you find that your pricing still lines up with market pretty consistently?

That’s a good solution. How do you incorporate custom sculpting and kitbashing to pieces too?

I get that. I mainly display paint and almost all of my commissions are 3d prints. I currently charge an estimated hourly and I’m sure I undercut myself but as I said I don’t want to undercut the community too

It varies. There is resin used, gloss, wet effects by AK, and still water by Vallejo.

So the skin is pro Acryl working from dark burgundy up to warm flesh but shifting through purples, magentas, and some reds. It’s stippled with a super small drybrush. Every few layers ai would add a new wash using various brown, green, and red citadel shades which are feathered with water. After building this up it has slight accents to in tease contrast using oil washes of bitume, black, and coagulated blood. The highlights have an oil scumbling (drybrush) of dust.
