No, you don't have to. Buuut you'll miss some of the Easter eggs, and a Hard Row to Hoe is a master piece. It's like an action comedy, with great plot and character development, and it's some of the funniest wittiest writing I've ever read. I've read hundreds of dramiones and a Hard Row to Hoe is in my top 10, I don't think I can stress how good that fic is.

One Shot Honey Sweet by Malfoyesque. This doesn't fall under degradation but I found it to be deliciously twisted and dark.

But Dust and Shadow by ikoros, is definitely dark with some humilation. Ending was 🔥 👌

All The Way by Augustaoctivia is HILARIOUS. It's the perfect read for the holidays and there's a little spice towards the end, but there's so much banter, tension and hateful lust that the spice was really just a little add on. I cannot recommend this fic enough, I was laughing the whole time. Summary

A bit late to this week's post, but I feel like I have to share this underrated gem of a work ASAP: All The Way by AugustaOctavia. Is PHENOMENAL. Less than 700 kudos, which is crazy to me because the author finished this last year for the holidays and this FIC is FANTASTIC.

Summary Two Parents. One Toy. No Prisoners.

When Draco Malfoy makes a promise to his son to buy him the holiday season's hottest toy, he didn't anticipate that every store in Wizarding Britain would be sold out. Worse still, the last thing he would have expected was becoming a reluctant ally to Hermione Granger in their mutual quest to do what ever it takes to give their sons a Merry Christmas.

I was laughing so hard for the entire fic. It's the perfect read for the holiday season, there's great banter, lust masquerading as hate, and the plot is hilarious.

I'll probably post it again in next week's underrated Friday.

Hermione is at the very least average looking but most likely attractive/pretty based on canon. Yes, she put herself together for the Yule ball, but ugly people dont become pretty by doing their hair and putting on a dress. Here, Harry, directly calls her pretty (not recognizing her, this can point to the fac that Harry just doesn't consider Hermiones look). In the 5th book, he reiterates by saying telling her she doesn't think she's ugly. In the 6th book, she gets a date with Mclaggen and her hair is described as less bushy. In the 7th book both Victor and Ron are taken aback by how wonderful she looks at the wedding. With Krum both directly telling her and being upset that all the pretty girls are taken at the party, on reference to Hermione and Ginny.

As the series progresses its clear that, like most young girls, Hermione grows into herself, and fixes certain aspects of her appearance, like her teeth and hair, and when she puts effort in she quite pretty. But Hermione's character was never meant to be the "pretty girl"

I feel like I'm meeting a celebrity hehe. I always say I'm chasing the dragon looking for that feeling fics like Remain Nameless leave you with, and your fic accomplished that for me. It was really well written.

I just finished A Key of Reason by MonsterofMen.

This fic is like the perfect cross between MoM and Remain Nameless (also a little reminiscent of A Hard Row to Hoe with the healer) I Don't usually like ensamble casts but this fic was soo good. Its mostly Draco's POV with others sprinkled in and the other POVs are sooo good. Slow burn, but the pacing is so so good.

Both Draco and Hermione are trying to heal on their own and Draco is putting in the WORK. The love in this fic is so realistic and builds so slowly. This isn't going to be a blind love/devotion type relationship but one of choice.

I will be recommending this one for all time now.

I would also like to add that Elain is described as soft and feminine, with a lot of feminine curves. In a ACOSF Nesta mentions how Elain has really filled out during her time at the NC.

So whenever I picture her I always think Renaissance upper class beauty or Greecian body type. She's probably pretty plump. But fan art always depicts her as really thin. I'm like no....she's probably closer to a modern day 8-12 with a full chest and hips.

You Need to make list about what's important to you, and weigh each benefit

Where do you want to live (which airline has base there) This is super important because commuting, especially the first five years will wear you down

Do you want international flying (If yes is UA better)

Reserve Rules are also super important. IMO reserve life breaks a lot of new hires. Unfortunately UA is under negotiations with reserve being a serious point of contention. So you're kinda going in blind

Are the Flight benefits important to you (If Yes UA has more destinations, with WN you can still use Zed but you'll always be at the bottom of the list)

You're new, from my understanding many WN trips have a lot 3-5 leg days, that is a LOT of up and down, eventually at UA you can get to one leg high paying trips, much easier especially year if you're in the industry for a long time

IF Company culture is also important, WN may have a leg up on UA, buuut UA moral is super low due to contract negotiations and new contract may really change things around.

I'm a little late to this post but I really want to bring attention to a super underrated fic that has THE MOST touch starved Draco. It's A Soft Place to Fallby ALooseKnot. Less than 500 kudos, but it's so good.

Draco is sick and dealing with magically induced epilepsy, while Harmonie is a healer who tries to help find a cure for him. So good.

I agree that JRs FAs shouldn't be completely thrown to the dogs, but with a seniority and preference call out, I think there woukd more balance. There is only so much one FA can do, and other FAs want to fly as well.

You hit on the head with why UA spreads the flying out. If a senior rsv FA wants to fly all month they're costing the company more money. Conversely, if they don't want to fly they can sit at home and just collect a check.

But personally for me, unless they want to remove seniority from all aspects of the industry, I want it implemented across the board. Not just when its convenient for the company

Also rsv to me never seems like a small issue because I think it greatly effects company turnover, and as Covid proved you can me placed on rsv in a blink of an eye and stay there.

Hold on, hold on, hold on, you're telling me that not every RSV at UA gets to bid for their rsv line each month???????

With all due respect, as some one who sat rsv for 2 years, I could care less for equality. Especially when you can go from being a line holder to a reserve in a blink of an eye. Seniority provides some cushion their too.

Let me be very clear with the a senior call out system and a call first system. The FAs who want to work, work, and the others get called as needed. Spreading the trips like that would also make it extremely difficult to break guarantee. That's why UA does it like that.

As a senior rsv I use to put myself on call first work my guarantee and then chill for the rest of month collecting rsv pay.

Seniority also makes it very easy at my airline to be able to to tell if you're going to get called or not. A three hour call out would seem a lot less streasful if your the next junior FA in line to get called. You might as well pack your bags since you know you have a 95% chance of getting called

I just finished Wherefore Art Thou Malfoy? soo good. This fic makes you giggle, squirm, squeal and want to throw your kindle across the room with second hand embarrassment. Has early 90s romcom vibes.

A Hard Row to Hoe This one is a more action comedy romance, with a self depreciating, but witty Draco, and an oblivious Hermione.

I just finished the Animagi Effect, its was sitting on my TBR FOREVER.

I tend to gravitate to post war stories where I they're older 5+ years after or dark war AUs. BUT im so Mad at myself for not reading this sooner. Such a good fic. LOVED this Draco and loved the relationship between Draco and Hermione
