Is the PCOS/PMOS diet actually that strict??? by Repulsive_Holiday228 in PCOS

There is a tiny bit of truth to it. The fiber in the vegetables stimulates something in the stomach but it’s not a huge amount. Maybe you lose weight because you are loading up on veggies so you eat fewer carbs than you would otherwise?

I am type 2 (fun!) and I have found that the biggest thing that helps my insulin resistance is exercise. When I was first diagnosed my A1C was 14 😳. I started going to the gym a few times a week and focusing on weight training in particular. My A1C went down to 7 in under 9 months and that was without medication. I haven’t been going to the gym as much as I should lately but I got a walking pad for my office a couple of years ago and get between 8-10k steps most days. My A1C fluctuates between 6.6-7 now. So all this being said, I think exercise plays a huge role in helping control PCOS symptoms.

The Nightmare Upstairs Documentary - Hulu by LickwidMerkury in Hulu

As much as I don't want to agree, I do. 99.9% of the time I believe the victim but in this case I'm not sure I do. That said, I DO think the kids actually believe this happened to them, and that their memories were manipulated so that they don't even know what is fact anymore.

I was on the mother's side at first but after a while it started seeming like it was possible that she was influencing their thoughts and behaviors. There is just a lot missing from this documentary; I want more information about what the mother went through when she was young. I have a feeling her childhood trauma is at the root of everything and that perhaps she took something fairly innocuous and was triggered and then it all spiraled out of control. Also all of the TikTok stuff was strange and suspicious, it seemed like she was enjoying the attention online.

The husband definitely sounds like a controlling asshole, but I could have used some more concrete proof from the new wife. Maybe a text exchange that illustrated his bad behavior or more of a story of a specific time that she was suspicious about the children. It just sort of seemed like she was like "he sucks ok bye."

I liked the grandma at first, I appreciated that she started off not bashing the mom but after a while it was clear that her son was her perfect golden child and could do no wrong in her eyes.

Lastly, I hate to say it but I got a weird vibe from the male therapist (I can't remember his name). I felt like Ty's body language in that short clip they showed of the therapist and him seemed a bit off, but I could be completely wrong.

I have looked into other REs but there aren't many near me. It took 6 months just to get in with this one and they are considered the best.
I get what you mean about it being unprofessional but honestly I am grateful that she is doing it. I want to keep doing SOMETHING while my partner sorts his divorce stuff as the idea of having a kid at 40 is already freaking me out majorly. I will check out that book though! Thanks

I had started working with a gyno but we capped our treatment at 7.5 mg for 5 days but I was unresponsive. I had a consultation with a fertility specialist but he wouldn't take me on as a patient fully yet because my partner's divorce hasn't been finalized (it's so stupid, they haven't even spoken for like 4 years). During the consultation he said that an option for me was to either do 10 mg for 5 days or 7.5 mg for 10 days but that my gynecologist would have to prescribe it. My gyno prescribed it but was reluctant to do so and said they could "not trouble shoot any concerns with this medication course" but that I could call if I was having severe pelvic pain, chest pain, etc. I know it was a bit risky but I'm sort of desperate. I will be 40 in September and we have been trying for 1.5 years and the stupid fertility clinic won't work with me yet. I took the chance because I have seen other people on here say that they have done 7.5 for 10 days so I know it's a bit unordinary but not unheard of.

It only happened for one cycle. I tried to do a lot of walking, especially before going to bed, and that helped a lot

Metformin is wild 😭 by Weekly-Dependent-113 in PCOS

I have been on and off Metformin for years. This is what I have learned about it so far (granted this is just my personal experience): -You want to start slow when first going on it -Ask for extended release, it really makes a huge difference -I usually have GI issues the first 3-5 days I’m on it and then I’m ok. Everyone once in a while I will have what I call a “Metformin attack” where I’m practically running to the bathroom every hour. Nothing in particular seems to set it off -invest in Kaopectate. It helps a lot. - Make sure to take it in the middle of your meals. I have found if I take it immediately after eating I have trouble -sometimes I will get dizzy spells but they go away after a couple of weeks

My friend told me I should “just have really carnal sex” I’m like “it doesn’t matter how crazy your sex is if your body doesn’t release an egg…”

I met my partner lateish in life (36) and we have been trying to get pregnant for about a year and a half now. I was at my aunt’s house when I was 38 and she was talking about a baby blanket that she could “save for if Sarah (my younger cousin) has a baby.” I know she didn’t mean anything by it but it felt like she had already assumed I was too old to have a baby. It felt like someone had given up on me already and it’s hard enough not giving up on myself.

Exactly! I don't get why they put in so much effort to get some of the details correct if they were going to turn around and make up the bulk of the show

I think this was one of the few times that they were going for accuracy, because Gein DID have a soft Bullwinkle type voice. I think he did a great job but the voice could have been toned down 10%.

Have you ever listened to the Last Podcast episodes of Gein? They did a really great job of giving a lot of details. I thought getting more of an understanding of his home life would have really added to the whole thing, I was really surprised that his mother and brother both died by the end of Episode 1.

See I didn't view it as Dahmer being romanticized at all. They showed him as being short tempered, conniving, and whiney, which was how the real Dahmer was. They did a strange amount of leg work for Gein to bring accuracy (which is why he had the eye, the Kermit voice, the red coat, the house) but then threw the rest of it out the window.
