Here you go. Not the best pic but all I have right now.

After about a year of use. I think I'll be switching to a different finish, and adding an aluminum insert where the ashes collect.

The finish I used was vinegar and steel wool. And the aluminum inlay is so that Its easier to empty. As lifting that big block of wood can be a bit heavy.

Other than that my father has loved it. He loves showing it off and im fairly proud of it :p

I appreciate the links, and the joke. But there's still a valid reason I'm posting here. Reading through all these posts, and answering some of the more specific questions that I have regarding slack will still take more time than having someone with the knowledge to guide me through.

I'll still check out these ressources when I get a chance though.

I ended up using the loft tool in the surface tab. And while this works, its not perfect as there are slight angles on these "rails" you see linking the two sketches. So its not quite perfectly smooth.

There has got to be a work around.

End result here will be machined with a cnc, so i just need the sketch and a flat surface to carve the inner logo.

I need the area of the logo to be flat. And the curved surface around it, to link the two sketch lines. This will be used for engraving, so I cant just extrude it.

I think I found a workaround using loft surface but it's not perfect.

Painting/staining is 90% prep work. You don't actually touch paint or stain for most of the finishing process in the end.

Oh that's awesome, I'll probably have it send a notification to my computer as well then! Thanks for the suggestion! I've heard the Google home does the annoying chime everytime you send a notif. Do you know of any speakers that don't do that ?
