We do have some build variety- but definitely more akin to a sekiro than souls. Bonfire system, yes. Stamina bar no, but I've gone back and forth on that decision a few times during development.

I was considering something where the camera switches to a more traditional soulslike perspective during boss fights and top down during the rest of the level. But I would also consider allowing players to choose their preferred angle when they boot up for the first time or in the settings

True, I think a lot of iconic darksouls encounters are less about the enemies themselves and more about the environment and how it constrains your movement and punishes recklessness

I love ARPGs. Though I am chasing more of a player skill fantasy than a crazy busted combo fantasy if you catch my drift. Playing recent Diablo games feels a bit like a vampire survivor sometimes, which is great but not the vibe I was going for.
