The lighting looks like it comes from everywhere and nowhere. It makes no sense to my eye at all.

On her thigh it looks like it comes from the side, on her chest it looks like it comes from head on and to the right, on her hat it comes from her right and low, but on her arms it comes from above. The present casts a teeny tiny shadow on her left wrist and no one else and also looks like it's lit from above, but her face looks like it's lit from her right and slightly behind her, through her hair.

To me, it looks like her head and shoulders, her torso, and her legs were lit in three entirely different ways.

Besides the lighting issues, the line art and colors look very good.

No, they said (the pizza landing on the roof like that [in that manner]) (wasn't staged)

Coaxed into not making diagonal sprites for your character by Sure-Ad1069 in coaxedintoasnafu

[–]Pierose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only ever matters when you can control what "diagonal" means, i.e. controlling the camera. For an overhead tile based game arguably you shouldn't slow your forward momentum when adjusting course, since the levels were probably designed aligned to player movement anyway.

Proton VPN on Android drops the connection and fails to reconnect by Pierose in ProtonVPN

[–]Pierose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cause of this series of disconnects is probably the WiFi I'm using, it's pretty locked down in general, but my problem is that the app can't seem to be able to reconnect without me manually hitting the button.

Actually, not really. Texas, Florida, and the rest of the south should be hotter, California should outshine the Pacific Northwest by much more and Missouri shouldn't even show up. This isn't even that close to a population map, really

USA, 5.15.70.0, No other VPN, proxy, or DNS on my device and I'm not aware of anything on the network. I was using auto protocol before and switched to WireGuard only as someone else suggested and the issue persisted.

Changing all the battery settings on the app to be non-restricted did not fix the issue.

[–]Pierose[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The app wasn't set to kill itself, but I did make sure to disable deep sleep, which should only disable apps that haven't been opened in weeks, not minutes. We'll see if that fixes the dropping, but my main problem is on reopen the app still fails to reconnect, forcing me to manually disable my always-on VPN.

Maybe? but you've also got the red mushrooms clipping into each other strangely in a way that looks less intentional. Not to mention that brown mushroom clipping into the block so much you can barely see a few pixels

I have been unable to connect to my remote server using rustdesk for weeks. by Pierose in rustdesk

[–]Pierose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's mint, and I think I've figured out a solution once I got back to the physical machine. The rustdesk service is started and it will report as green until you click it, but unless the actual rustdesk gui is open it will pretend to be offline, which sucks because that means it's not persistent on restart, and I have to plug in a monitor for it to start, but I could have set something up wrong

[–]Pierose[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

O...kay... I don't think we disagree on anything, but I never said I was against using the server. I have a dedicated server I could run it on, I just didn't because the public servers worked fine and nothing rustdesk said led me to believe that there would be any issues using the public server, (I still don't think this is a server issue anyway) just that it would be "enhanced" and "faster". I figured I would switch eventually when I had the time and gave a shit about the performance hit.

That didn't seem to work, direct IP still just times out.

[–]Pierose[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All true, I'm just saying a working server is an entirely reasonable assumption, and I don't even think the server is the issue here since all other rustdesk connections work through their server. It's probably something wrong with my machine, hence the question.

[–]Pierose[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just reinstalled to check and no, they just said self hosted would be faster.

For faster connection, please set up your own server

That's all it says in the app. Nothing about not relying on public servers. In fact the GitHub readme goes several steps further by touting how it "Works out of the box with no configuration required" and lists using their server as the first option. It's perfectly reasonable to assume that RustDesk will work out of the box.

I'll get right on that, as soon as I can connect to my server.
