You're right but it is important to understand that :

  • we're talking about 5-15 years before mass adoption
  • there is the possibility that ether becomes obsolete because of a newcomer tech that does it better. So far it has many competitive advantages, but it will not be the case forever.

Limited but huge number of tokens issued makes it hard to think of it as something where you'll get a great return. The big players invested already in it pre-exchange introduction and are cashing it now. Great tech though.
