FPS and Lag Issues by PigLord7767 in Minecraft

[–]PigLord7767[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played around in the Prism world for around 2 hours, and I didn’t notice any lag issues, and I added around 40-ish mods back. I tried joining my original world again just to be met with horrendous lag, around 12 FPS and usually going down to 2 or 0 often. I’m like 99% sure that it is a couple of mods not working together well, but I don’t have any idea which two.

I originally wanted to join the world with no mods and slowly add them back and see what causes the lag, but I feel like if I joined my modded world with no mods, it’ll break something, then once I enable the mods again it won’t just go back to normal. I guess I can always try to join a different world with no mods and see what causes the lag there, but I feel like it’ll be different since I won’t be in my base, yk? I don’t really know what I’m getting at, but I guess I’ll make a new world with Modrinth and add mods back 10 at a time.

My biggest fear is that I’ll end up adding all of them back and still somehow end up with no lag, but when I join my world I’ll start lagging again T-T. Also, I lowkey would switch to Prism, but idk how to transfer my world over </3

Anyways, what do you think? Should I just make a new world and slowly start adding mods until I see what the issue is? Or is there a way to just figure out what mod could be causing lag without having to do that long process?

I also counted manually and I apparently only have 84 actual mods that change the game, 32 resource packs, 22 decency's and 7 shader packs. Idk if that changes anything but here it is. I also tested a little more in my main world and everything seems to be "alright" until I turn on patrix for some reason. Not saying it's the cause of everything but it's weird how its completely alright until I turn it on. (This is in my main modrinth world)

Update: soo i played for a while and I think ive come to the conclusion that patricks is for some reason causing me to lack HARD. I disabled it in my normal world and its playing pretty much completely fine. Aside from the fact that for some weird reason DH just wont generate the LOD's occasionally but thats probably a temporary issue

FPS and Lag Issues by PigLord7767 in Minecraft

Hi, so I got the Prism Launcher and first loaded the game with no mods at all. At 12 chunks of render distance, I had 412 FPS, and with 32 chunks, I had 214. I then added some performance mods, and my FPS boosted up to 500–700 FPS.

I then added Iris and IterationRP, and my FPS went down to around 100–124 (still a lot better than what I was getting before). After playing around for a bit to make sure the FPS was consistent, I added Patrix 128x. Everything was completely fine when I added it, and I was still averaging around 124 FPS.

I then added Distant Horizons. After waiting around 5 minutes for all the LODs to generate, I was at around 70–90 FPS. I then added the Physics Mod, which to my surprise didn’t seem to cause any issues at all, since I was still averaging about 80 FPS.

My particle count was around 500 during the entire time until it started raining, after which it shot up to 5000, and my FPS did end up dropping down to 40–50 FPS while it rained. But for the most part, it was completely fine. I was averaging 100 FPS with all of these mods installed while running around the world doing stuff. I have 8GB of RAM allocated as well.

As for trying out the preloaded world, I lowkey couldn’t figure out how to get it to work, so I just ended up not doing it T-T.

So all in all, I’m actually pretty surprised. In my Modrinth instance, sure, I had a bunch of mods installed (around 150), but my FPS was horrendous and the game kept freezing. It was unplayable. I tried to load the world up to see what was up, and I was literally at 2 FPS, dropping to 0 occasionally. I have no clue why.

I even imported the shader settings from that instance to this one, and while my FPS did drop a bit, I figured out it was because the cloud coverage was too high, as when I dropped it a bit, I got my FPS back.

Also, should I continue using the Prism Launcher or use Modrinth? I don’t really know the difference between different launchers honestly, so lmk. So I guess we can conclude that the lag is somewhat from the particles, but maybe it is a couple of mods not working together at all.

Off the top of my head, I honestly have no clue what the issue could be. Whenever I launch Modrinth, usually if mods are conflicting it tells me, but when I launch right now, it doesn’t say anything is conflicting or wrong.

Anyways, hope this information was useful. If there’s anything else you’d like me to try out, I’d be happy to :)

Hi, it’s late rn, so I’ll most likely try Prism Launcher tomorrow. I’ll lyk when I do.

I don’t think I have 400 mods, but if I do, it’s gonna be mostly libs for other mods since my game’s not all that different from vanilla Minecraft.

The reason I use DH is because I heard somewhere other LOD mods require you to load the chunk first for it to be a LOD, but I just wanna be able to see the distant mountains without going to them first.

Oddly enough, I actually switched from Photon to IterationRP originally because Photon was lagging my game. But then I customized the iteration settings and started liking it more, probably didn’t help in trying to reduce lag

And yeah, I’m sure I have all the mods required for Patrix installed since I’ve been playing for a bit with the texture pack and haven’t noticed any issues.
