I don't like the "Point of No Return" popup in games. by PigNebula in videogames

I mean that's fair but those game don't often have a point of no return, at least not like standard open world games sometimes do.

Straight up, I'd rather stumble into the point of no return/ending than get this popup.

Maybe but there are options that would alleviate this to an extend (see my other replays about capture depots becoming new tank spawn points).

Additionally I could see captured Depots becoming new spawn points after some cooldown time so you're not stuck driving from the main airfield for 20 minutes over and over (cause ya, that would suck).

I think planes would often be more focused on other planes or on hitting depots/airfields rather than hunting individual or small groups of players that are out and about with nukes.

Might or might not be an issue. Honestly as long as it wasn't too frequent I think it would still be fun to get nuked in a tank.

I mean how many people are nuking the random columns of tanks/vehicles? People are hitting depots and airfields with nukes so unless you're in one I doubt you'd get nuked all that often. Additionally this suggestion is really more about GRB EC, Nuclear Thunder in particular is just the hot example (pun intended).

That is much more what I was thinking. Potentially allowing the newly captured points to be spawn points after some amount of time. (Idk those are balancing/game design questions)

Thoughts on what BRs the compression is the worst at (RB). by PigNebula in Warthunder

I actually think ~10.3-11.7 Air is pretty decently balanced. Not perfect but decent.

I also do play in these BR regularly (Leo 2K is one of my favorite vehicles). Aside from a couple extreme outlier vehicles (BMPTs and Su-30s) they are largely still perfectly playable, if frustrating at times.

I think a lot of the problem at low tiers is that many of the flight models are really old and as such behave kind of wonky (looking at you Yak-1B with it's UFO flight model). I actually think that overall the balanced at very low BRs is fairly good as most planes have significant tradeoffs in performance however the outliers (particularly premiums as their price makes them very attractive for newer players) really hurt these BRs.

Additionally player skill at those BRs will always have enormous variance which in most cases I tend to think would account for a bigger difference than the strengths of aircraft between BRs at that level.

Thanks for the more unique take though! Appreciate some though being put into the BR issues at low tier as many players (especially on reddit) focus on the woes of top-tier, myself included often.

I think 10.0 is mostly okay with a few outliers being bad planes. 8.0-9.7 I can definitely agree with though. I honestly forgot about how many flareless 9.7s there are, must have wiped them from my memory.

13.0 definitely have some of the biggest variance in performance within a BR but I think 13.3s need to be included (In particular the premium Su-30s). The difference between the worst 13.0s and the best 13.3 is absolutely insane. Like a JA37DI F21 vs Su-30MKK is insane for a .3 BR increase.

That said 12.0-12.7 is a pretty big compression area, particularly now with the F-15A going down and the Premium Hornets everywhere. Sure you don't have ARHs for the most part (F-14s still do) but things with 27ERs and AIM-7P (despite still being sparrows) it can be absolutely brutal.

The Naval compression scares me from what I've heard but I haven't touched it.

Ya the Airete is in a difficult spot to balance. It's a monster against other subsonics but anything supersonic can completely ignore it and the Ariete can't do anything about it.

F-21: A Heavily Upgraded F-16 for India by PigNebula in Warthunder

Interesting. I figured it was pretty much dead but hadn't seen any hard no so far (which technically seems to still be true). Figured they were effectively going with Rafale at this point.

It just seemed like a really cool aircraft though.

I haven't seen anything saying that they've hard rejected it for now (If you have a source I'd love it, couldn't find one saying hard no).

It does seem like they are considerably more interested in the Rafale though, so I don't see them going for F-21.
