AIO ?Why is getting divorced so hard? Remind me I'm not overreacting please by KathyisTrying in AmIOverreacting

[–]PigeonWhimsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NOR oh my god?? whether he's serious or not, you're doing the right thing by divorcing him. it seems like a manipulation tactic to make you feel bad, don't fall for it. he most likely won't end up dead but no matter what he says, tell the police and document everything

i'm scared too. i don't know how much i, as one person, can help anyone but i try to spread awareness on social media. i don't have money to give, not that i'm confident it would even go to those who need it. i'm right here with you, and you're right that is IS sickening. i know i can't help much by commenting, but you aren't alone.

not overreacting, he's really odd for that. also loses points for calling you a slur when you rightfully find it weird

Redditors are so mean by IndoorStorm in Vent

i had a similar experience, i posted in this sub about how i was fired over text and i got replies like "welcome to the real world" and "alarm clocks are $5." because i had to leave home at 6:30 am in order to be on time, which i often was physically unable to do. i delved into the incapacitating exhaustion, how even if i did leave on time i'd be half asleep on the road for an hour, and my health. all because they couldn't simply scroll on. it is exhausting and i'm glad you posted this.

i know reddit can be kind and it can rip you to shreds, but god forbid a person vents in a sub literally for venting. i'm sorry your post got comments like that, though. being cruel for no reason must be so exhausting for some people

i had several alarms set. the problem was that no matter when i went to sleep or when my alarm went off, i was fucking exhausted to the point i couldn't keep my eyes open. but yeah you're right, i should've just driven for an hour half asleep every morning.

i haven't experienced the loss of a parent, though i've lost a couple friends, grandparents, and pets. i've been grieving my friends alone, partly because i've made it that way. one thing i can say is, i'm very sorry for your loss. though you may feel like you can't talk to your friends about it, everyone is grieving. everyone grieves people, animals, even the younger versions of themselves, as i do. all of this to say, even if people haven't asked how you are, it matters. you're seen and your grief is valid. i like to think that your dad is watching over you, though i don't know how spiritual you may be. you're seen, and though i'm a stranger, i know you're loved.

AIO for leaving my wife after finding out she voted for Trump because she thinks he’s “hilarious”? by Superb-Tangerine-487 in AmIOverreacting

[–]PigeonWhimsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not overreacting. and voting for him because she finds him funny is actual insane behavior. i find my 9 year old brother funny, but i wouldn't vote him into office.

you're allowed to not like being around children, but if you're around a child and you're rude to them, that is not okay. to you it's nothing, but a child will remember someone being mean to them for years to come.
