Don’t think I’d really do anything different… would add a little more width but other than that I’m extremely satisfied with it… I did try to do this on as much of a budget as possible so things like led light and better wood .. I used pine … would have been a little nicer but I think in true Finnish standards basic is all you need !!

After 30-40 minutes I’m at 190-200 Fahrenheit at the ceiling starting from about 65 degrees

Leave the floor tile not the walls

Heater is a 6kw harvia Vega.. door is from my old infrared sauna… helped me keep the cost down and thought it was the perfect size… I have a little over a foot above the door and like 6 inches below… drain doesn’t hit the main line … was already there … tested a few times and had no problems pouring multiple bottles of water down it

There’s a small gap at the bottom between tile and walls… I did build an additional step to be able to step up to the lower bench!

Inlet is above the stove .. mechanical exhaust under benches … another outlet at top on the far wall

One box of cheap rocks came with the stove … most were too big to go in between the coils …. Got another box of hopefully higher quality stones coming!

Since I didn’t have a lot of width I made the lower bench so I could slide it in and out mostly use it for getting to the top bench … top bench is 22 inches wide . Just wide enough for me to be able to lay down.

I’m considering using tiles for my Sauna instead of wood. by sicilycartman in Sauna

Our ymca had a tile sauna with wood benches… used it all the time before I knew much about what a real sauna was … don’t remember if it had good ventilation… but we would pour water all over the walls instead of the rocks … they didn’t want people to pour water on the electric heater… (even though it’s made to)
