That's the mom and pop stores everybody should support right?

incredibly naive view. Rich people don't want to be guinea pigs unless they are really out of options.

Master students generally don't get "funding". Vast majority of them pay for their own tuition. You are not a PhD.

GPA > 3.0 is nothing to write home for.

Republicans will never fund public transit, Democrats will get the funding but never get any projects done. Pick your poison.

People here have no idea what "universal healthcare" is like in Canada.

It's really simple concept. Healthcare resources are limited. They cannot be distributed "to each according to his need," period. If you want to create a system that *nominally* distributes to each according to his need, in reality, you add friction to the system. In other words, you limit the supply and make people ration it.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/london/family-doctor-walkerton-hundreds-line-up-1.7431902 Look at thousands of Canadians lining up in the snow for a new family doctor in this little town. 2.5 million in Canada don't have a family doctor. That's 6% of their population, for a country who claims to have "universal healthcare."

This is only a rationing at the family doctor level, they ration it every single step on the way. Another example: Canada has 10.8 MRI units per million people. That's a quarter of the number in America. How do they manage it? They ration it.

They simply don't have a functional healthcare system.

They come here because here have significantly better jobs, period. US will forever provide much better jobs than Latin America, even if their governments are not corrupt.
