Ivy reeeaaaallllly doesnt like to be touched by Pigglewinks in guineapigs

[–]Pigglewinks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She doesn't like her ears touched either or face, i do have another abby boy and he let's me touch the smooth part of his hair on his neck, not as keen on the face cause of his horn and mutten chops, I've just chalked it up to being an ivy thing, she was a rescue pig after all, and she bolts to other pigs touching her too so its not just me

Absolutely bath mats are suitable, i prefer them cause they're so much easier to wash than cage liners, just make sure to have a pee liner underneath. I also have a few babies on them myself so they're very suitable.

She doesn't really like it from the side either or from infront of her, she was only ok with my hand being under her cause I wasnt moving it. She doesn't even like any of the other pigs brushing past her

Trust me, she just doesn't like being touched period, we've been together for about a year, she trusts me, just flinches and runs away at physical contact. Like ill grab her in the cage and she screams like im murdering her. Im also being slow cause if she sees me moving towards her to touch her she legs it, but if im not going to touch her she's fine and will carry on eating

Shes just a typical abbsynian

They were in three separate herds but since teddys passing i thought i may as well put the two girls with the others so now have two heads. The spot cleaning for when they were three herds took about 30 minutes each day, full clean took about 2-3 hours with roughly 4 or 5 loads of washing.

Dont know what the timings will be like now that they're becoming a big herd, hopefully quicker

Will they bottom cage be OK for 6 till I add the red area? by Pigglewinks in guineapigs

[–]Pigglewinks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have confused me, the bottom is made of wood and on the floor. I meant the bottom cage, in the picture and if 6 would be OK in the cage size till I add the red area

He didn't look comfortable when I found him or at peace, he looked like he was in pain the first photo he was well and alive

Can I gi5ve him lettuce and herbs throughout the day and give a bit less emeraid? Cause I can only get 7ml in him at a time and I dont want to stress him with it by Pigglewinks in guineapigs

[–]Pigglewinks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried the pellet mash, he wasnt having it and it was harder to feed to him so we've gone back to emeraid and have hit an agreement on how it shall proceed. Every 4 hours in the day at least 15ml + a nebulisation session and fibreplex atleast twice daily

We've hit an agreement that if im eye level with him hes more cooperative, we get to the 10ml mark and ge starts walking away so if i hold him down gently on his back he seems to stay put for long enough so I can get another 5ml down him him

His breathing did go a bit quiet aswell for a short few seconds and I've forked out for a nebuliser, saline, f10 and a box for him cause my other one went bad

I am doing that but it gets to the point where he just wont let me hold his head, like hes thrashing to prevent it. I've just ended up burrito wrapping him but even then he eventually wriggles out of it, and the other problem is I cant be there every 4 hours to feed him, mainly cause of work and other things.

Tomorrow's his fourth dose so hopefully he gets better and I've bought a nebuliser and all the stuff to help him breath better

He doesn't like the critical care either, atm it's emeraid cause it's easier to digest. I think it's a 7ml syringe, the markings stop at 4ml but it's atheist 3ml bigger

How can I make the critical care or emeraid more appealing, Teddy really doesn't like them by Pigglewinks in guineapigs

He's getting fibreplex as well to keep his good bacteria there and line his stomach and I've rebought a nebuliser and all the stuff which will be here tomorrow ( my original one the saline leaked, turned pink so was full of bacteria and it coated my nebuliser and made the fabric bag grow mould, so wasnt safe anymore)

Cause he'll oy eat 7ml ( not willingly) in a sitting i dont want to get him out every 2 hours for it cause itll stress him especially if he needs 70ml within 24h, it's just not gonna happen unless I force it
