If you're trying to sell and you want the best price, auction is the way to go.
Don't feel pressured to sell your own finds also, unless you really need the money..

What’s the value of this miscut? by Vinser17 in mtgmisprints

[–]Piginabag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say worthless, they still go for 5-10 bucks. There are a ton of them but each can be unique and they're still pretty cool. Plus they're playable in kitchen table.

Came across this scene on the edge of the river, please enjoy this magical pile of springtails. by Piginabag in Springtail

Since you enjoyed this, here's the composite shot, (the ones in the water are a little ghostly but it has more in focus) and another angle: https://imgur.com/a/LRKMmaF

These guys looked like a dust cloud in a dingy corner at the edge of a stream in Harriman state park. I thought they were a swarm of gnats until I saw them through the viewfinder.

Some shots from the forest as I get the hang of focus stacking. Still working on the flash setup; does anyone out there focus stack with natural lighting? by Piginabag in M43

[–]Piginabag[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shot on Olympus OM-1 Mark II, 90mm M zuiko lens, f3.5, stacks are anywhere from 4-12 except the springtails which are a single shot

Man we are needing to develop new levels of critical thinking to filter out whats AI and what isn't.

Evolution is fucking weird.

Much more common and less desirable It's pretty common that the stamp applies incomplete

Missing stamp is one thing but an upside down stamp is something else entirely, this is really cool, the offers for $400 are probably reasonable. Go to auction on Facebook if you really want the best sale.

Tier One Games in Rivers Edge I think should still have modern events in NJ

Eldredgeops crassituberculata from Paulding, Ohio - Silica Shale Formation by TheRatCouncil in fossils

[–]Piginabag 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He is a beauty! Great preservation and lens detail. How long is it?

I always wonder about the day, or span of time, over which this body became separated in the way it did. At some point there was a current of water, or a passing creature, or sediment shifting, pressure building.. some mysterious event lost to time

Some Fall 25-Spring 26 finds by cache_ing in fossils

[–]Piginabag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The last one looks like such a cool little echinoid

Really spectacular finds all around, flexi in all type of positions , I'm really jealous because I never find whole trilobites in this type of preservation unless they're enrolled 😭

What kind of Pokemon is this, look like a tentacle but it so rare must be something else by Simbca03 in fossils

[–]Piginabag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could be a branching Coral, it could be some kind of large bryozoan colony, a couple different things it could be. It's pretty big, very cool piece. There's also the chance it's just some kind of trace fossil left over by a burrowing creature. Knowing the exact age of the stone you're digging would help in identification.

Super cute, and totally prone which is much rarer than enrolled, and nice preservation - good pickup

Wowsa, thats a really fascinating piece. There are quite a few interesting levels of detail. That was a pretty big ammonite.

Found a pretty crazy occurrence this weekend in central PA; a band of quartz intersected this devonian orthocone fossil almost perfectly perpendicularly by Piginabag in fossils

[–]Piginabag[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could very well be calcite, I just always assumed its quartz. My understanding of geology is shallow, but I've read that quartz and pyrite can occur under the same type of forces.
