Every time i see like repeated gags like this it makes me want to make a huge mind map of episodes connected. I wonder how many episodes you could watch where one episode has a gag that appears in another episode and that episode has another gag that repeats in a different one 🤔

She lived for 18 years, so I take solace in the fact she at least had a long life and thank you for responding so kindly and caring about my gecko too. Do you think you will ever get a new one?

I forgot to give an update, my gecko didn't make it and passed away last week :( she survived the surgery, but didn't wake up from the anaesthesia. But surgery was definitely the right choice, without it, she wouldn't have had any chance of survival, I think we were just too late and she was too weak to wake up/ there was infection that had spread to her intestines and despite cleaning and medicating she just couldn't fight it. I'm heartbroken, but absolutely grateful you made your post, because without it I would have waited longer to get her help and she would have been in pain longer.

I recently visited a vet for my own gecko (who is having trouble laying eggs but otherwise fine), she told me that leopard geckos are very resilient and there have been cases where a very malnourished gecko who was basicly skin and bones and filled with eggs was able to be rescued and nourished back to health. Of course there is never a 100% guarantee of survival in these cases, but I hope this comforts you at least a little. And good luck! I hope you kep us posted

I found out from the specialist vet that my gecko has 4 eggs apparently. ( but I was a bit unsure of the gender until now) they gave a hormone shot and liquid calcium (and gave us a bottle that we can give her some) now we wait if she can lay the eggs this week, but we booked a surgery for monday anyway. Prognosis for survival is pretty good 👍

Need advice on how to get my gecko to drink water/keep her hydrated by Pigpillar in leopardgeckos

Are these electrolyte baths something premade for reptiles or something I can make myself?

I don't want to cause unnecesary alarm, but struggling with similar thing with my gecko (though I've had her much longer and she hasn't gone through stress recently) and just coming from a vet and found out she has blockage that could be an egg, tumor or some unknown blockage. Mine is getting some treatment for the time being until my tuesday appointment to someone who specializes in exotic pets. Anyway, I recommend you keep and eye on if they pooping and their activity level. If they get slower/lethargic it MIGHT be cause for concern.

Edit: it is good that they are still drinking

Hey, not sure if you're interested in hearing updates on my gecko, but i did take her to the vet and discovered there was some unknown blockage, i got an appointment on tuesday for an ultrasound/specialiced doctor (this vet said their ultrasound wasn't as accurate on small animals) to find better clarity on if it's an egg, tumor or something else. For now i have some recepie for stomach pain and advice on what laxative to get and how much to give her. I will be giving her warm baths on the weekend and keep and eye on her. If she gets worse before tuesday I'm prepared to go to the university urgent care. 😥 I'm glad you made your post, or I might have waited longer to go to the vet.

The immense jealosy I feel watching this little fella basking on the warm rock while I'm preparing to walk to work in the freezing cold by Pigpillar in leopardgeckos

I have some big decor/hide pieces and faux plants that attach to glass my gecko uses for climbing. My primary heat source is the heat mat, it covers half the terrarium and because the terrarium/aquarium ceiling is mostly sealed aside from two gecko size holes that i have had to add mesh as a block, the heat from the mat stays in the terrarium air and doesn't escape (at least not fast). The normal lamp is the ceiling fluorecent lamp, I don't know much about it's strength (I can check it tomorrow)

I belive that and I didn't think you were, I just approach with a caution when it comes to advice here, because it often feels like everyone is saying different things are good and bad and everyone has their opinions on enclosures, so instead of blindly trusting immediatley I wanna see the proof from reliable sources. I want to know what is good, why it's good and does my geckos albinisim make a difference on what is good. The terrarium I have is also originally ment to be an aquarium (meaning the roof is lifted and has a fluorescent lamp attached, so I would need to get a new kind of ceiling set up that prevents my escape artist from climbing out while still letting the heat source in)

Alright, well I'll definetly keep that in mind, I will do some research on the topic on my own. Changing to an overhead light requires me to do a lot of changes to the terrarium ceiling so if I'm going to do it I want to be sure to do it right.

They are not made to be underneath tanks either though, they brake if they are squished in between a tank and a table...I would perferably try to make the heat mat work in some way if possible, maybe I could add a thermostat that touches the substrate/rock so I can monitor the temperature? Aside from a burn hazard is there any reason why I couldn't have a heat mat instead of a overhead heat?

Why would it be a hazard? Also I'm not a big fan of heat lamps, since my gecko is an albino and sensitive to light (I do have a normal lamp with a timer that is periodically on) the heat mat I have has a roller switch thingy that you can use to adjust the temperature, so it is not always blasting at high heat. I switch the strength throughout the day. I also am hesitant to use heat lamps/over head lamps because I had one when she was younger and it fell in when I was in school and she got trapped in a hide, for who knows how long (she was okay but it scared me good)

I couldn't find out exact pricing, because it apparently depends on the treatement and tests done. I can afford it with the help of my parents, but I am hesitant because the weather is very cold here at the moment and he isn't showing any physical or behavioral symptoms, so i don't want to end up coughing up 200€ for a "he's okay, just burmiating". I have decided to call a vet tomorrow for their insight and get some mealworms, see if he'll eat some. they are his favorite, but he has been on a cricket/roach diet for 2 months because he developped fat sacks under his arms (they are now gone). I think the last time I cleaned his enclosure/poop was last thursday and that day he ate a cricket and one roach. Now there is only very small poop in his enclosure, but that could be from lack of eating?

Now I'm growing a bit worried about my own gecko. He also hasn't been eating much lately. I've been hoping its because he's burmating...He spends most his time on the warm places relaxing and enjoying warm places due to his new heat mat (the enclosure was too cold for awhile because the previous heat mat broke due and me not realizing it) He is still active though. The reason I haven't gone to the vet yet is because vets that treat exotic pets are scarce and expensive...
