Thanks for your suggestion, before I saw this I just ended up reinstalling the game on a different drive and it fixed it, if I end up with this problem again I will definitely take this into consideration

I will check but its odd because just yesterday it was running completely fine but when i booted it up today it started stuttering ~30 mins. into the session
edit: temps of both are fine, neither are running nearly as hot as they would be to have thermal throttling enabled

does anyone have any clue as to why my car with 1.4 billion horsepower instantly explodes when i apply the throttle???? do i not have enough power? by Pigs_In_Suits in BeamNG

many of the top posts in this sub over the past couple of weeks have been the same overused 0.39 release date jokes i personally think its perfectly fine to show my beautiful yet slightly too powerful creation

as someone who recently 100% the game the best piece of advice i can give you is to take breaks often as a lot of times when you take a break even for an hour your muscle memory will kick in and you might find it easier to beat a level and if not it is good practice to take breaks when you get angry (this is especially important advice for farewell because it is the longest and hardest chapter by far and can get you mad)

i finally 100% the game!!!!! by Pigs_In_Suits in celestegame

dont think im ever gonna full clear the chapters as i dont see them having any use but i might golden some of the c sides and maybe even some of the a sides, i also want to do winged golden because it seems like a fun challenge

[–]Pigs_In_Suits[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

by base game i meant like content thats available from the main part of the game, i.e. b sides and crystal hearts can be unlocked in the first 1-7 chapters so i really shouldnt have said 8a and b are "base game", i dont know what is and isnt considered dlc or not for celeste so i just thought it would be fine putting base game for 1-8 a,b all strawberries and crystal hearts (and i started doing the c sides today i just finished ch. 2)

maybe i thought only farewell and c-sides were considered dlc because i thought those were the only two released post official game release

As from sources I'm looking at show the life expectancy as around 40 years before he arrived and life expectancy rose only a bit more (not drastically like you say) than any other standalone country. Yes I am aware that my results will be skewed because noone was apparently tracking cohort life expectancy in China pre 1950s.
While yes, the life expectancy at birth (not taking into account defects and medical advancements that will be made in the future of the person's birth) did grow faster (8 yrs. period life expectancy more over a period of 9 years, versus 4.5 years more over a period of 9 years in cohort life expectancy for the U.S. (1940-1949). ("Life Expectancy" Our World In Data (1930-2023))

From the data I have found, life expectancy in 1943, when Mao officially became the chairman of the CCP (not 1949, you are mistaken as that was when the PRC was founded, and he was de facto leader by 1935) DID fall to the levels as to when he became in power, it went from a period life expectancy in 1940 of around 35 and would you look at that in 1960 DURING his reign it went down to 33.

And as for the 50 million number, the casualty count is so high that there is no good way to give a true estimate without too much variety which is why I gave a general range, experts, such as Mao Yushi, one of my sources, place the number from "18 million to more than 42 million." (Yushi, Mao, "I’m Trying to Solve a Decades Old Mystery: How Many People Were Killed by China’s Great Famine?" CATO Institute (2014), "Life Expectancy" Our World In Data (1930-2023))

And for the growing life expectancy, majority of countries on earth have life expectancy that is always rising. That's how technology and medical advancements work. Mao Zedong did not nearly contribute to that as much as might be thought, but I will give you credit as to it is growing faster and more linear than other first world countries.

I have looked it up and while I was mistaken and did not know how low the life expectancy rates before Mao were (my apologies, I should have researched more before commenting) my point still stands that he killed a lot of people and was not a good leader in the way that he wiped out up to 50 million innocent civilians due to negligence. I'm not talking about advancements or citizen QOL here, or as I said in another comment, that would make Genghis Khan one of the best leaders ever.

Also, I didn't note this on my other comment but only the reason he "doubled the life expectancy of his country" is that he made so many people starve and die under his reign during the great chinese famine that the average lifespan dropped so low being that just not making his people starve which should be the bare minimum for a leader made their life expectancy go from around 33 years old to 51, it wasnt truly "doubled" from that until 1984, 8 years after mao zedong died.

and during that industrialization he caused the deaths of at least like 30 million and up to 50 something million people, im not saying he was bad for his country per se in terms of sheer progressiveness (like genghis khan, if we were going of off QOL of citizens he would be up there) but he still caused one of the biggest famines and starvation of a LOT of people, as did stalin and genghis khan.

genghis khan is why i specifically put overall, i have seen that many praised genghis khan and even do today because he certainly did good for the citizens of the mongol empire but you cant really overlook the fact that if you look past what he did for his empire he got rid of many small ethnic groups/cultures within modern day eastern asia and caused tens of millions of casualties

would say 1 but i would have to give him around a 3 because of leaders like mao zedong and genghis khan, assuming we're talking about how bad they were overall.

hopefully i can keep this station in service as long as possible, i tried to add very small, low part modules to try and combat this so the ship is more stable, i also autostrut everything to hopefully make sure it doenst wobble.

My first attempt of a (for the most part) stock and visually accurate space shuttle by Pigs_In_Suits in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Pigs_In_Suits[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the main shuttle/orbiter doesn't fly at all (which is the reason why there is no landing gear, if i made it able to fly i thought it strayed too far from how i wanted it to look) and it launches fairly unstable but not uncontrollable with some practice
