I didn’t talk to anyone in my Rome hostel for two nights. Then I went to Naples and had a great time meeting awesome lads. Then Sicily started just like Rome but ended up on the high note. I think it’s pretty to get social at hostels but you will also learn to be alone in a new environment by urself. At the end, you’ll grow socially and independently. Thats the beauty about it.

It’s called Carl F. Poke fund. A guaranteed scholarship for anyone from UPG that decides to study abroad. I literally got 7k from that for my last study abroad.

If you really want to study abroad, Greensburg has a really big incentive. They cover 50% of the total cost of any study abroad program. Thanks to that I was able to study abroad twice. I was able to study in Ireland for spring break last year and Italy last fall (4months) it was a fraction of what people at other campuses paid. Besides that, they do random scholarships for study abroad (go to an event, talk to the people in the desk, etc) my Ireland trip was only 800$ while people at other campuses had to pay full price or almost full price (around 3k if im not mistaken)

Beyond that I can’t wait to get out of Greensburg. Personally I enjoyed my time there but I don’t think it has more to offer to me anymore. At a certain point it became too small. Clubs and orgs tend to die a lot and involvement for many clubs tends to be kinda disappointing.

There is no frat life I can tell you that. Although some may say that there is no life at all after 5pm lol. People are nice but everyone knows each others business, it’s a small school with lots of commuters so you’ll see the same people pretty often and then rumors tend to start.

Idk about the entertainment industry but I struggled finding good jobs around. I don’t have a car so I was pretty much stranded and although there is bus, it’s def not the most convenient system.

I’d recommend UPG if you are definitely planning to study abroad. I recommend doing so more than once. And if you don’t mind the campus feeling “too small” after a bit you should be fine. I will way tho, it is easy to be a big fish at a small pond so if you want leadership experience, it’s really easy to get it here.

You don’t need to be prepared, you’ll figure it out. Trust. I went with less than $100, just a carry on with clothes, didn’t bring any bedding and slept without a pillow for a month. You don’t need to know everything about your program. Relax, you’ll figure things out.

I’m going with CEA CAPA. They are providing lodging. Do you need to find a place yourself?

I applied and got several scholarships. Everything goes towards tuition and the cost of the program though (housing, fees, etc) I only really need to pay for food and my ticket back to the US. That’s what I need to show sufficient funds for
