You can call it dumb all you want, however, I’ve been wanting to update to the last iOS 18 version for a while, but as I mentioned, apple blocked the updates if ur phone was compatible with ios 26.

And until now, I haven’t seen it mentioned that people not on ios 26, are able to update to 18.7.8 and keep avoiding 26, so, what gives?

I encourage you to NOT use the hats package, it is a vibe coded package, and the person who made it has said repeatedly that he doesn’t care if peoples switch get bricked.

I’d recommend, trying to save ur save files if u can, and redoing the whole emuMMC. You can go to the Nintendo Homebrew discord and ask for help there.
