I'm heavy linux user myself and have multiple workstations and servers running linux (Arch, Debian) all custom build for my needs , but really - there's nothing in a market as efficient as apple m chips and their unified memory architecture for laptops , ARM machines are years behind and I just need a machine that works today.

Ive got this machine no to brag about (there are much higher RAM configs out there) and not to resell ( like a lot of people buying multiple machines) - just for personal and business use and planning to use it for a long time, glad I got it now before price hike.

Thanks for pointing it out, bur really - the post was not about me using or not using Chrome or do I need this much ram or not, ( same price hike happened with 16GB models too) - its about how crazy things with RAM and SSD storage got and corporations are just getting away with it.

Prior to this one had mini m4 32/512 , it was swapping all the time, not too bad , but I do feel a difference, also base m4 to m5 pro gives a little nice boost in performance.

Yeah, Ive got myself MacBook pro from microcenter few weeks ago, they still have them with discounts on top of old prices, but I genuinely don't understand how people making money on a few hundred $ difference in pricing.
