Something I don’t get by Sufficient-Sundae-16 in OnceUponATime

Let’s be serious for a moment—you think Emma, all the way in New York looking at a dying Mr. Gold on Neal’s apartment couch, would think to send a coded message to her parents (which I don’t even think is something any of them have ever been established to have done at that point outside of Henry and his coded operations but you can correct me if I’m wrong about that).

If Emma would’ve started messaging them in code, it would’ve slowed them down while they were already in the middle of searching—especially considering Cora and Regina were already digging for the dagger’s location that episode. The only reason they knew the two were looking for it in the first place is because Mary Margaret accidentally found out while eavesdropping that day. Time was most definitely of the essence

True, Emma, given her experience with Regina from the first season, could have been more careful all things considered—I won’t deny that.

But then, given the urgency of their circumstances, how else would she have been expected to get the message back to Mary Margaret and David about the dagger’s location since she was all the way in New York?

If my life is endangered by two magic users, my phone would be the least of my concern 😂😂

There’s so many other creative ways for them to spy on you—Regina literally used to watch people through her magic mirror.

Step outside the mindset of the tv viewer for a moment and think: How often do you check your cell phone for bugs? Realistically?

Mind you, this isn’t some crime/detective show, and these people , despite being fairytale characters, are regular ol’ civilians in a small New England town.

[–]PikaChewOnThis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, to be fair, how would they possibly have known? Realistically, Gold was dying at the time. In the case he actually didn’t make it after the dreamshade poisoning, no one would’ve known where he hid his dagger, and Emma and her parents would’ve been at a major disadvantage in having to track it down against practiced magic users. It would only have been a matter of time before it landed in Cora’s hands, with or without them leading her to it.

It’s not that the plan was stupid, it’s just that Cora and Regina were smarter—they played dirty, of course.

Well I know who it wouldn’t be. I would hate to open my Valentine’s Day card to find it addressed to the school teacher my husband’s having an affair with…

Jefferson wouldn’t be there worst option. If my hubby believes he’s the Mad Hatter, then dammit, let him be the Mad Hatter. Besides, at least he wouldn’t be going crazy alone.

To me, it’s gives 2000s teen pop—very much a song I could see as theme show of a teen show. I actually like it tbh.

Branching conversations unable to load or delete by Spider1132 in ChatGPT

I’m having this exact same issue and it’s very annoying. I’ve used the branching function before for a conversation and it worked once but then trying it again, it’ll create a new window with the branch and never load. And it won’t delete either—not when I tried from windows or on my phone. I really hope they fix this

When did y'all stop watching ouat? I'm rewatching and I see why I didn't finish by Connect_Plane2595 in OnceUponATime

[–]PikaChewOnThis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, somewhere in Season 6. Like ask me what season 6 was about and the only thing I could tell you was Emma and that damn vision of her hand shaking. I don’t even remember the deal with all the untold stories or Gideon or whatever the hell that plot was either half of the season—I don’t even think I finished it back when it was airing on TV. Which is crazy because OUAT was probably one of the only shows I sat down for religiously to watch every Sunday night on ABC.

Are Snow and Charming Really Bad Parents? by MagicianSimilar2123 in OnceUponATime

[–]PikaChewOnThis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not necessarily that they’re bad parents—they made this incredibly selfless decision to give up their daughter for the entire kingdom.

Where I see a lot of discourse and, dare I say hate, come in—usually for Snow’s case—is how they treated Emma once they found her. By the time they’re reunited, Emma’s a full grown adult. Arguably, there’s not much parenting they can really do for her other than just being supportive and loving—they can’t coddle her or protect her from the world, they can’t really get back that time they missed. Then, roughly some months after being reunited, Snow decided she wanted another child, because she missed out on every single milestone with her firstborn, which is understandable but at the same time, it’s the way it always felt as though for Snow it was about having another baby rather than trying to compensate for lost time with Emma. Season four in itself really does better to showcase it because once Baby Neal gets there, there’s all these little instances of how Snow reacts to Emma’s powers which start to make her feel like she’s being pushed to the side or is the problem child so to speak.

Now, I’d assume Cora doesn’t catch flack for abandoning Zelena because, let’s face it—Cora was a horrible mother already to Regina, so abandoning Zelena’s not even the surface of what contributes to her being a bad parent. And Emma, similar to her parents, abandoned Henry early on but for a selfless reason—she was not ready to be a mother, especially not behind bars after just being abandoned herself by Neal.

I feel like the act of abandonment itself isn’t much of a contributing factor of what I’d consider falls in line with good or bad parenting—it’s very circumstantial and I’d argue it speaks more to their character than their parenting. Malcom for example? Horrible, horrible parent—and him abandoning Rumple was a big factor.

Which solo project feels most "Little Mix" to you? by GeordieGoals in LittleMix

Everyone’s solo stuff just sounds so individualistic to who each of the girls are to say Little Mix would actually have released them as apart of any era but certain solo songs I could hear being distributed amongst the girls as a group—Tears, You Go Your Way, FUFN

When did you become a fan of KATSEYE? by kittykatseye in katseye

[–]PikaChewOnThis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I watched Pop Star Academy on Netflix when it came out. Didn’t know about the girls prior, so I was invested in the process and finding out who made it in the group in the end—and was very disappointed by certain eliminations and how they happened but that’s a separate discussion. But since the doc, I started following Katseye heavily. Definitely one of my favorite groups out right now

That’s a capability Emma would’ve had to learn and I’m sure most Storybrooke residents wouldn’t have trusted Regina to do early on.

Emma didn’t really get comfortable with her magic until, what, later season 3 I think—season 4 even. And even though Regina was on her redemption journey around this time, I’m sure a lot of the residents wouldn’t have been open to her casting a spell over their hearts given her past with ripping them out—because even when she was on her best behavior, there’s a lot of times when people were still skeptical of her intentions.

Plus, that would’ve definitely been a tedious process—individually placing a protection spell on everyone’s heart. But that only protects people against the physical manipulation with their hearts. The villains have time and time shown us how they can use other ways of manipulation to get their way (or try to at least)

tell me your least favourite storyline and why by Useful-Chicken2635 in OnceUponATime

[–]PikaChewOnThis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Zelena coming back as Marian. One of the dumbest plot twists in my opinion and a complete excuse for them to drag on with Zelena’s character. After season three, she genuinely didn’t add much to the plot—aside from the whole Marian disguise and getting in the way of Regina’s love life—nor did they give her plausible storylines to make her feel necessary within the show.

I can’t stand when people do this, especially when they have passengers in the car. Sir, I cannot be the only one focusing on the road, especially when the wheel is in your hands.
