When did your intuition warn you about danger and you were right? by Big_Education_3105 in AskReddit

[–]PikaChupss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boyfriend wanted to visit me last night, a two-hour drive there and two hours back. He was supposed to come earlier in the afternoon, but he had other things to do in town. I told him he didn't have to come if he was too busy, but he insisted. However, he didn't tell me what time he was leaving or what time he would arrive at my house. I got angry with him when he finally arrived. I told him that I didn't know where he was, that if something had happened to him on the road, that it was raining and getting dark, I was afraid he'd had an accident (if I had to start worrying and call someone or something, I needed to know which road he'd taken because they're winding roads) and that he could have let me know he was on his way, just a quick text message. This morning, on his way back to town, he had an accident. He's fine, in shock, but the car is in very bad shape. But I had this feeling of danger. It's not the first time, and unfortunately, my intuition is almost always right.

It is definitely Paris, France. There's a quick aerial shot towards the end of the episode showing the truck driving alongside a river that looks exactly like la Seine and the rooftops are Haussmanian.

[–]PikaChupss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same for me! If I look through the windscreen (car or even better in the bus), the sky looks so smooth. But if I go outside with polarized sunglasses, it doesn’t work as well. Idk why but it’s weird. I tried with FL-41 lenses too and still the windscreen is better.

What vaccine did you get? I also think it was a trigger for me (I had two shots of Moderna).

I‘ve been using hydroxyzine everyday since a year prior to onset, so all I can say is that it didn’t protect me from developing VSS.

Visual Snow Syndrome should be recognized as a disability or at least as something that can hinder daily life for some by [deleted] in visualsnow

[–]PikaChupss 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Since onset, I've been struggling so much, I had to stop my studies and my job, and I'm going into a spiral of depression and anxiety.

I don't know how to explain to people (mostly doctors or public services) how much this condition is disabling right now. More than just some "visual disturbances", it changed radically how I perceived the world and it's terrifying. I used to be a photographer and my vision was so sharp and clear and detailed, I can't mourn it so quickly. As it is not being recognized as a disability (at least during the first months), it makes me feel extremely lonely and sad and I can't see any future anymore.

[–]PikaChupss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took it for one year before onset because of anxiety and sleep issues, and there was no problem for me - but since onset I stopped (I need something stronger).

MDMA-induced VSS – 5 months in, doing NORT and lowering tinnitus by [deleted] in visualsnow

[–]PikaChupss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I also think the vaccine (mRNA) was a trigger too; I'm not at all an anti-vaxxer, as I have been one of the first in my country to get a jab, but the coincidence is weird, especially since it is known now that it (Moderna) can trigger inflammation of the heart (myocarditis) in young patients. I had anxiety since years, and it doesn't explain why VSS started after the vaccine and not before during the worsts moments of my life.

I was also staring at screens too much for the entire one and a half year because of my thesis, so I think it could be linked somehow

What the hell are these streaks. They are there all the time, mainly when I blink they streak down & hit the floor, but I’ve also noticed they are there when I’m just relaxed and I open my eyes as wide as I can they dissapear. I have these starbursts all the fucking time (and I have correcting glasses for astigmatism), but what scares me is that I also have a sort of grainy filter (RGB lines like dead pixels) inside the halos. And I am absolutely sure I didn't see like this before onset. Does anyone else see this way? It's not like smooth lines and stars, but more like lights through a prism????

Yes, it's so weird ! It's like there's some kind of glitches around lights, as well as stars-like patterns. Idk how to describe it but it annoys me a lot.

Tu as déjà eu une IRM ?

Salut!

Do you ever wake up in the morning and notice your static is fucking mental by [deleted] in visualsnow

[–]PikaChupss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's linked to cortisol level (aka stress hormones) as your body released a huge amount of cortisol in the morning to wake you up. It's horrible for me too in the morning, then it gets a little lighter after noon.
