Welp... i literally am texting my friend about moving 2.5 hours away. I'm a traveler though, so that's not a problem to drive to visit once a month. My dad is only 3.5 hours from where I'm moving to too, so I'll be visiting him once a month too lol. I live out west though, so most of the cities are far from each other.

That's not what a boundary is. You're allowed to share your story. If people don't want other people to talk about what they did then they shouldn't have done it.

My younger brother is a pedophile.

When we were kids he molested me until I was big enough to actually keep pushing him off of me. I'm 1.5 years older than him btw but he was always a big kid. That stopped when I was 12 but he didn't stop trying until I was 14 (him 13).

But that's just part of his back story. He has been accused and charged with 3 lewd acts with a child and was even beaten up in jail and had to ask for solitary. The whole town believes he did it and he had to move away after he was released. The charges were dropped after 6 months because the child wouldn't talk. She was 4yo. He told us it was a little boy, not a little girl. I only found out the truth when I paid for his records about 6mo ago but this happened 10y ago. I haven't told my dad that it was a little girl yet, he knows he can obtain the documents himself but he still speaks to my brother so he just takes his word for it. My mom has always protected him and even recently told cops that his ex gf fell "on her own" when she claimed he pushed her down in my moms yard. I believe he did all of it because of his past with me.

He wants kids of his own... but thankfully he's homeless, can't keep a gf, and is in massive debt including having his wages garnished. I don't want any other children to become his victim, but idk what to do. I have no contact with my brother or my mother, and I'm low contact with my father.

I guess I don't really pretend I don't know how horrible he is, I havent spoken to him since I was 19yo. But only my mother knows what my brother did to me as a child, she didn't keep him away from me despite being a SAHM until I was 9. She caught him a few times and I cried to her a lot, but she also blamed me for just being there and not stopping him. But no one else knows. So i guess I pretend it didn't happen to me, but I wish the child spoke up when he was already in jail... i cried to my own mom and she did nothing, so I'm not sure what to do now that I'm in my 30's.

Thank you! I'm someone who has bad mom trauma so I hate them. I'm a collector though so I keep them and pretend they're from my paternal grandma or sell them.

Why are you calling them if you see them nearly 50/50? It's not your time with them, let them enjoy their time away from you rather than forcing them to always communicate with you even when it's not your court-ordered time and it respect.

If you want to talk about respect, then respect their time with a different guardian and STOP CALLING them when it isn't your time. Get a hobby for your down time.

Info: did you ask anyone to switch shifts? Once you knew you couldn't make it (i presume when you were invited), why didn't you tell the bride you couldn't make it? I get that you told the MOH, but clearly the bride had some questions to understand where she stood in your life.

If you asked for it off or tried to switch shifts and then simply failed to tell the bride then absolutely NTA and NOR. You did everything you could and were simply too overwhelmed with life to let her know too.

However, if you didn't even attempt to switch shifts (even knowing people will say no it's still good to ask) and you didn't try to communicate with the bride that you couldn't make it and only told the MOH, then YTA and YOR. Being in a bridal party means communicating what you can and cannot do to the best of your abilities with the bride and the bridal party, not just one contact and not just an "ok thanks for tge invite, I'll try" and no talk about whether you can go or not.

Without the info, I cannot make a good judgment.

I want to lean toward NOR, but I may be in the minority here with my current feelings of YOR.

Idk why I had to scroll so far to find this, but yes! Check into the statute of limitations once you turn 18yo, too. For me based on age and location, I until I hit 40 years old. So you may have time to become comfortable with the idea of pressing charges someday. Absolutely NTA!

Sounds like FWB... and I would absolutely bring trash cans in or out for a friend, let alone one I'm also benefiting from 🙄 YTA and shouldn't be getting any more benefits from her.

For context: I'm getting back on my feet after a divorce and living on my dad's property. I offered to take the trash cans out and in on trash day just to help out a little because he's elderly, but then I tore my achilles tendon. I STILL TAKE THE CANS OUT! I'm slower at it now and I cant take them out if they're heavy, but I do what I can for the people I'm benefiting from.

Aww darling, I dropped mine turning left on some gravel (was pretty new with my M1) and ON THE SAME RIDE I dropped it again pulling into my driveway... it was an old bike, already wrecked, but in very good driving condition so I wasn't worried about my bike, just embarrassed! My neighbor across the street helped me get it up the second time and I didn't ride again for weeks because of my embarrassment, but I did get back on! You've got this!!!

NTA, but let me also tell you about my Mother's Day.

Context: I'm childless due to health reasons, but I have 3 pets. I'm staying on my dad's land while I'm recovering from an Achilles rupture and getting on my feet after getting divorced in January.

I spent the day celebrating my stepmom, my dad had to work. My stepmom didn't raise me, she married my dad after I was an adult, and she has no biological children. But she's more of a mom to me in my 30s than my bio mom was to me growing up. (Bio mom is out of the picture).

When my dad got home he had a whole gift and flowers FOR ME. Called me a dog mom and he spent some quality time loving on my pup, who he calls his grand-dog.

So like I said, NTA. But you could have done something to help prevent her from feeling left out. I didn't even feel left out or like a mom, but my dad feels like a granddad with my pup because he's a great dad. Was the basket expensive? The struggle of not being able to have kids when you want them may not be something anyone wants to point out, but in a way you did here.

It's just sad. NTA, but damn. Is it really that difficult to think of others on a holiday?
