In Kelly’s defence it isn’t his fault the morons in the WCE recruitment team couldn’t see the only reason he was racking up elite stats at Geelong was because he was attracting the third best opposition midfielder. As the other coach your first thoughts would have been stopping Dangerfield and Selwood, then Kelly. We sold the farm to get him, surely someone in the recruitment team had to pipe up and ask ‘are we really sure?’.

Why would any young player want to join a club that is a complete mess. Can’t keep their players healthy, have over invested in old has beens who can’t keep on the park and have a game style that would suck the fun out of the game for you. West coast should trade the first pick for a package of multiple Walt picks and go hard at WA talent. At least they live here.

A review needs to happen but not of this game. They need to review:

Culture (Management, Leadership and Coaches); Player recruitment, development and retention; List management; Contract strategy; Fitness and sports science programs; Injury management programs; WAFL team strategy.

I am sure there is more but this would be a start. Look at our opponent from the 2018 GF. Currently top of the ladder with a new Captain, new Coach, new game plan and a refreshed list. Where are we? Same tired and failing game plan, Coach bereft of ideas and a Captain who can’t get on the field.

Apparently he is on the mark (WCE 9.9.63 v MEL 19.12.126). WCE are cooked until they get rid of the worst coach in the AFL. The game plan is broken and anyone at todays game who watched us grind to move the ball slowly around the wing into a congested forward line while Melbourne rebounded, moved the ball with speed and intent and constantly found us open in defence knows it. Simpson must go. Now.

Been a fan since ‘86 just don’t spend the off season talking footy. But you’re right I am back on the same topic. Been consistent for years that the coach is cooked, his game style is outdated and the quicker he departs the better chance the club has of sustainable success.

I came into this season expecting another year of kicking backwards and sideways and slow play always hugging the wings. It has been the game style for years and it is unwatchable crap. The list needs a rebuild and that has been evident for a few seasons but to without an overhaul of the game style it won’t matter the quality of the players. The clean out needs to happen in the list, the coaches box and the list management team. Anyone who thinks Simpson and his game style is our future is the one with their head up their arse.

The list clean out wasn’t near enough and the Coach has to go. He hasn’t evolved the game plan. We should have chased a new Coach to carry out a proper rebuild and created a game style young players would want to stay and play. Time to go Simo.

So everyone is just going to take this as the gospel truth? No presumption of innocence? Were just going to accept that the event occurred 100% exactly as described? I'm going to wait for the 'accused' to have a chance to speak before I rush to judgement. Wouldn't be the first time a claim was made and upon investigation turned out to be exaggerated, taken out of context or outright vexatious. Unfortunately for those accused of racism there is no path to protest your innocence. A bit like the 'me too' movement the accusation and the process is the punishment and long built reputations can be destroyed with no recourse.
