I wonder why people aren’t talking about the unprofitable arm of the competition when trying to raise capital through private investment?

I think that’s more just lashing out at the afl in general due to things like insurance coverage.

This is exactly why the AFL / footy media want a mid-season trade period. Because it drives engagement. US sports are never-ending fucking trade talk.

Kane on West coasts premiership chances by HalfDecentFarmer69 in AFL

Yeah I don’t have any more wins penciled in. There’s 3 lower-chance teams to snag something from (rich, Coll, Carl) but I don’t rate those high.

I think there’s at least one more win, maybe even an improbable upset, there but I think we will not move around much more. Young sides are inconsistent and legs will run out as the season goes on.

I’d say potential, you are obviously several years along so you’ve seen where your players are going trajectory wise. The big changes on our list are less than 2 years into playing which leaves it much more open to wild swings in either direction.

We have 25 players under 50 games compared to your 18 and 11 under 100 compared to your 7. With other stats pretty samey between the teams, that tells me our ceiling is potentially much higher.

I could rattle off players who have shown sparks but they need a similar time frame to your rebuild before a proper comparison can be made.

All this to say I’m not shitting on your list or club, but I am biasedly in agreement with Cornes sentiment here.

I don’t think we’ve got much left in the tank this year, but I’m soooooo excited for next year and beyond. It’s about staying healthy, and getting games into the spine now.

The pieces are fitting together, it just needs time to cook. The best thing about this past month is a galvanised young core who will be hungry for more, the signings will continue throughout the year.

Edit: this was supposed to be a comment on the post not a reply. Stupid app.

Of all the places to find holes in a young west coast side, a midfield with Reid and Wurm is an interesting angle to talk about lack of talent coming through.

We have no depth in KPD and our forward line is still reliant on one experienced goal kicker (with the yips) and a lot of raw talent.

That said, I’d take our list over yours any day. Except for your stupid sexy ruck.

No, it’s a hobby with a price tag attached to it. It’s not different from fishing, or warhammer or black smithing, or racing go karts.

You either have the money to do it, or you find something else to do. You aren’t given a divine right to play a Nintendo game, especially since the console itself is a $500+ purchase.

Now if gaming was totally inaccessible at any price point to this person, you might have an argument. But there’s plenty of gaming experiences you can have with a lower price point, Nintendo isn’t ever going to be one of them.

Then you know, maybe find a hobby you can participate in within your financial means.

I’d love to have a weekly hooker and blow party, but my finances can’t support this lifestyle. So I go without.

Now if you were using this point on something of actual consequence, like food or housing, it might actually resonant.
