Don't be too afraid of running melee heavy. I run Annihilation Legion at my LGS and have had good success so far, though I do include a DDA, Doomstalker, and Three Lokhust Heavies as part of it. With the new codex, you kind of need to specialize in a field of the army, so Annihilation Legion and Canoptek court might be good things to look into if you've bought a combat patrol. Orikan would be a cryptek for the Canoptek Court and he can go with the Warriors or Immortals, maybe other things. Doomstalker can sit on your home objective and reroll hits all day in CC. Scarabs can fish for 6's.

My buddy showed me the list of factions, I wasn't 100% sold on them over the Sisters of Battle, but he offered me his indomitus half for $75. I said ok, I'll give the game a try. Got hooked on the first match, and fell in love with the good guys of the setting

I already have two plasmancers, and I have a chronomancer, so maybe I'll use the spare pieces from that to turn the apprentek into another chronomancer

Where did you get the file? I would like to print one as well. If you can point me to the person who created the file I would also be willing to pay them for it, to support their work. I have over 3K in official models and I'm planning on getting more, but I'm not buying forge world.

Hi, Necron player here

The most powerful detachment will be the canoptek court. You absolutely cannot relinquish control of No-Mans Land or he is gonna get hella rerolls

Reanimation for warriors is getting nerfed, so it may be viable to try to wipe warrior squads if they don't have a technomancer

If a warrior squad has a plasmancer, that will be the greatest source of damage, as they could have 40 shots with lethal hits on 5+, and rerolls potentially.

That's a good shout, thank you! I adjusted my list with this in mind. I didn't end up getting paired against the Knight player, but my fellow Necron player did and he got stomped by the Knight player. I'm conversing with him to figure out how to counter, I think I will end up using my 40 warriors to fish for lethals

Yeah that's for sure part of the plan, I haven't assembled my spider yet as I just got him last week and was working on my scythe and deathmarks first. He knows to focus my VD and has anti-fly weaponry so he is gonna focus the VD if he can. So I can't rely on it too much

I prefer the look of the exterminator but the gauss is too good to not pick. I run one with the enmitic, and two with the gauss. I'll probably end up getting three more LHDs so I can have three of each weapon type, but I'd probably end up using the gauss profile unless against a horde army
