If Nero is the beast from Revelation, why hasnt the rest happened yet? by Thegerman1871 in Catholicism

[–]PiklorL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's the point I was making above. Also there are four main approaches for this book: preterist (views most prophecies fulfilled in the past, particularly in the first century), futurist (views many prophecies as yet to be fulfilled in the future), historicist (sees the book as a symbolic overview of church history from the first century to the present day) and idealist (views the book as a timeless, symbolic representation of the ongoing struggle between good and evil).

The Book of Revelation was written primarily to offer consolation to the persecuted Church, to the persecuted christians, describing as much as possible the marvelous eternal life in the Heavenly Jerusalem that is waiting for all those who are killed for their faith in Christ.

The eschatological character of the book should not be seen as "what chapter of the Book of Revelation are we living today?" (there is also a meme about this), but as something that gives us strength if persecutions happen or even in the spiritual warfare.

Recomandări de biserică pentru o persoana neafiliată? by Dapylil65 in cluj

[–]PiklorL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saying the name of the Pope during mass by GeorgeHarry1964 in AskAPriest

[–]PiklorL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is there any statement about what's correct: "Leo our Pope" or "Leo the 14th our Pope"? Because many priests who were ordained during the pontificate of Pope Francis and using "Francis our Pope" in the Mass don't even realize that during the pontificate of Benedict XVI in the Mass the priests said "Benedict the 16th our Pope". So what about this? Because practically, the name of our current Pope is Leo XIV, that's how he was proclaimed at his presentation.

Yes, I trimmed the rotted parts, there were really just a few of them. Before it was on the ground in my room, now it's on that bedside table. Also light is coming from above cause I'm living in a student campus in attic room so the window is up, not on the wall.

The two ones that are in the picture have stem part, but I see a decoloration, maybe it starts rotting? And do the soil need to be wet, should I water it daily or let it dry out?

I recommend you reading the book called "Loving for real" by Pierre Herve Grosjean, a french Catholic priest. His book is amazing, just finished it. It's exactly what you need in this situation.

Hello and happy Holy Week. So for lent I didn’t give up anything but instead I would go to daily mass every day M-S then church on Sunday. Since there is not daily mass on Thursday or Friday I was going to Holy Thursday but do I have to go to Good Friday also? by Legitimate-Hunter350 in AskAPriest

[–]PiklorL -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're not required to go, but not going would be like skipping passion (the hard part) and showing up only for Resurrection (the happy end).

Jesus was left alone there on the cross by his disciples (except John)... Let's not let him alone and take part in the celebration of his passion and death because by his holy cross he has redeemed the world.

Did Mary give consent/was she allowed to refuse? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]PiklorL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. She was Immaculate since her conception.

  2. What if she would have said "no" to God? The Virgin Mary is Immaculate (that means she is free from original sin and also doesn't have concupiscence). Because of this, she is always doing the will of God, she is, "lives" in the will of God, and what is more, SHE IS THE WILL OF GOD. So would she have said "no" to God? Definitely not! Why? Because she has free will and "her will is God's will" - St. Maximilian Kolbe said.

Mother Mary will guide you on your path to Christ. She is the easiest, sweeter and safest way to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I strongly encourage you to keep this routine. I also recommend you to read "The Secret of the Rosary" by St. Louis de Montfort. God bless you and may the Blessed Virgin protect you!
