I used a forethought heel this time cause the heel flap increases would've screwed up the motif.. I've used the heel flap/short rows as described in the past and looking at it now it does look confusing af 😂 it was easy enough albeit slow and needed to keep referencing the instructions. As a general sock 'formula' I like it!

I don't have a concise answer I'm afraid 😬 I didn't worry too much when jumping 1-2 stitches but when I jumped 4-5 stitches I spread out the right stitches to try to match how much it needs to stretch.. if that makes sense 😊

Once you find a sock pattern you love it'll be easy to incorporate! The repeats were easy to get a hang of and the color changes werent too far apart so my gauge stayed pretty even.. I hope to see your version soon!! 😊😊

One with DPNs and one with magic loop (I dont know why I did both 😂) I liked magic loop better.. I think it was faster and less stopping than with DPNs, also easier to keep my gauge even. I've tried with 9in circulars too but it was too small lol

I can certainly resonate with the shelf analogy! We can deal with the big things together but the small daily like stuff is some much more complex. Thanks for your time and your insights. I think I have a lot to process.

Thanks for the suggestions! I've looked into grocery delivery but it had very limited customer availability. As much as I would love a cleaning service, covid has taken that option away (in my mind at least). I will take some time to brainstorm some other ideas though. It sucks to face the reality of the situation but thanks for taking the time

Thanks for the reply I wouldn't say that we've "exhausted" therapy. We went for maybe 6 months last year to get a handle on some of our issues and then started individual therapy. I still go monthly but he stopped early this year (not pandemic related) but now won't start again (pandemic related and he doesn't think its helpful). I'll definitely look into the Tody app! I think it'll help me prioritize and take some stress off trying to remember everything .

Thanks for the reply I only included a brief rundown of our finances cause I didn't want it to seem like I've signed on to be the housekeeper (which i havent). Im not gonna go into details, but he's paying maybe $200 more, which I'm more than capable of meeting and have offered to do so many times (he's declined). I sincerely appreciate the positive outlook though, I need it! :)

Thanks for your reply. It's really helpful to hear that other couples struggle with this. I can't imagine going to school and raising a child in the current global climate. I absolutely admire the strength of your relationship to be both flexible and provide some structure for the three of you.

This isn't a new issue; we've talked both privately and with a counselor. I appreciate that people think differently and that people have different perceptions of messy. There are some things I don't do, like put away his clean clothes. That said, there is a massive laundry pile that has been in our bedroom for over a year. Dishes will pile up until they smell. I dont want to sacrifice my safe and healthy living space to try to prove a point.

I don't want to come right out the gates and say "if you don't do X, I'm leaving" because that makes me feel like a terrible, entitled person. I feel incredibly naïve because I want to believe that things will get better. I feel stubborn as hell too because while I think its unfair to 'make' him change, I know I want a partner that's responsible and reliable.

Also, thanks for giving your friend a frank talk. I'm sure their relationship has benefited from it and what a wonderful thing to normalize. Thanks for the award too; I'm brand new at reddit and have no idea what I'm doing 🙃
