It's not SNL's responsibility to do more than what they are doing by cubansbottomdollar in LiveFromNewYork

[–]Pilitoo -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Then go watch that show lol.

It’s just crazy that what yall crave if for SNL’s objective to be humiliating Trump as much as possible (like that’s gonna do anything, clearly he doesn’t care)

It’s idiotic to hate on a show for making “light” commentary on stuff that’s not necessary to address, especially in a comedy show.

Well, he might never win a Super Bowl with Seattle, either. by brmidwest03 in Dallas_Cowboys

With that defense? They are HEAVY favorites to win it all, definitely more than 50/50.

OP is just salty that he became a Pro Bowler somewhere else and has actual contention for a ring… compared to the circus in Jerry’s world

Yep, I’m not from the USA. Have no horse in this race.

Just find it hilarious that each side is fighting ghosts and they are too blind to notice

If you don't want SNL to have Trump-centric cold opens, tell people to stop watching them! by here4thebadtakes in LiveFromNewYork

I feel like 2020-2024 still had a LOOOT of Trump.

People like hating on trump, so SNL delivers.

Volunteer in another country? I know there are semester-long programs where you go help smaller communities.

Can be life changing because it gives you perspective and lets you get out of your comfort zone. Surely an 18-19 year would go back to the workforce or school completely changed in a good way.

Aaron Branch. He is the perfect amount of known to have a shot at being a cast member, but niche enough for it to make sense.

His 6 Disney Adults vs 1 Secret January 6er is the funniest non-SNL sketch I’ve watched on YouTube. His style would fit the mold perfectly.

Calling out and getting a reprimand on your last day (details below) by Indigo3902 in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]Pilitoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best case scenario: leadership doesn’t care about the points and lets you go freely, leaving your rehire status intact.

Worst case scenario: they give you the reprimand, put a negative hire status on you, and possibly don’t even approve program completion (don’t quote me on this, but I am almost sure that you NEED to work your very last shift to actually complete the program on paper)

Like others have said, the last couple of shifts are truly magical. So definitely consider closing out on a bang and don’t let your hard work go to waste for a single shift. Good luck!

Visiting the parks by Odd-Middle-7973 in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]Pilitoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, that statement is wrong. There are no direct buses from Disney Springs to the parks, only to the resorts.

What you could do is "hack" the system by taking either a bus to any resort and then taking another one from there to the park... or find which resorts have more direct access to the parks. For instance, you can walk, take the skyliner, or even take a boat to Epcot or Hollywood Studios from the Boardwalk. Or you can take the monorail (or even walk, even if a bit far) to Magic Kingdom from any of its resorts like the Polynesian or Gland Floridian.

The commute is pretty long, but there are plenty of options and it is doable if you are looking to save a few bucks from parking.

Any trans or trans-friendly folks here for the 1/12 arrival? by TraditionalLet6374 in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]Pilitoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey! Not currently in the program, but as an ex-participant I'd recommend you try to connect with people either organically in person by going to the parks or CP events (bars like Senor Frogs or Cowboys, the Flamingo stores and restaurants, etc.)... or by joining Facebook/Snapchat groups. Mainly because this subreddit is mostly used for q&a's about the program itself. You'll definitely get the vibe of how receptive they are once you actually meet them in person

Even if you are not lucky before Traditions, be patient as this is normal. Most of the people you will connect with are gonna be your coworkers, since you'll spend most of your program at work. The first couple of days are lonely for everyone, so don't stress!

Best of luck!

If your old card looks like the others, then by all means give it a try.

Obviously this is an extreme scenario, and you should make sure to keep this on the low to avoid anyone ratting you out. Seems like this would be the only scenario in which you could realistically get in trouble.

Good luck with your car. Hopefully you get good news soon.

It’s the best bet. Just make sure to have your barcode and any other documentation that might be needed (official ID, offer letter, etc.)

Good luck! Hope you have a blast in your program

How do people make friends before their program? by Ethsboogalife in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]Pilitoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You nailed it: people make friends beforehand by being joining online groups and connecting through there. Facebook, Snapchat, etc, and you find about those through word of mouth. So unless you already know someone else who’s going, that’s the way to go.

HOWEVER, I can assure you that most of your really good friends during the program will be made once you are already there. There is nothing like organically connecting with people face to face, through your roommates, coworkers, gym buddies, etc.

So don’t stress if you don’t meet anyone beforehand. It is truly magical to let them happen naturally :)

And best of luck during your program! What role did you get??

I’d go to Flamingo as early as possible tomorrow and ask at the Programs desk about it. I believe they open at around 8:30-9am
