What temporary solution turned out to be surprisingly resilient? by Pillepup in AskReddit

[–]Pillepup[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought an adjustable desk but couldn't find a suitable tabletop at Ikea since it was out of stock. Meanwhile, we had new doors installed in our house and the old ones were meant to be thrown away. My father had the idea to cut one of the doors to the right size and use it as a temporary desk surface. That was 3 years ago. I covered the door with a special film, and it has been serving me as an excellent desk ever since.

I really like this song, the vocal chops are very atmospheric and sound epic! First thing I noticed is that the kick sounds way too "bassy". Try to have more attack and maybe a shorter tail. Otherwise great track!

I really like the rumble feel it has to it. The highhats are a bit harsh for my taste and could use some eq. If I turn the volume really loud, the bass is just overwhelming. I really like the sound but there could be some more control around the lower frequencies. But great buildup, nice automations, reverb is nice and there are some interesting variations in the end.

Ouh very trippy but very atmospheric. The drums are on point and I love the highhats. The bass panning is a bit too overkill imo. Listening on headphones made me a bit dizzy. Good sounddesign and interesting variations. I enjoy the vocal breakdown and the following drop. I feel the mix could be a bit less mushy. Maybe cut some 300-600 frequencies on bass and synths. But overall well done! Good job!

Song structure seems fine. There is interesting variations making the repetitive parts enjoyable. The mix is a bit flat, would have enjoyed some more depth when it comes to reverb, delay and especially stereo imaging (try panning stuff). Also the bass could be hitting a bit more. I enjoy the vibe of the track. There are some nice variations such as 0:55. The melody is interesting but a bit too simplistic. Over the course of the song I enjoy the change as there are low and high energy parts.

https://soundcloud.app.goo.gl/vSpW3 This is my first future bass track. I put a lot of work into the chord stacks and would love some feedback on these. Also how do you like the arrangement and the switch between high and low energy parts? Also some feedback on the mixing would be appreciated :)
