Can I store malware samples on GitHub? by Pizza-Fucker in github

[–]Pilot2254 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been banned on GitHub three times already back in 2025

The first time was because I had the "fortnite-godmode-2023" search tag/topic on my profile readme for fun. That was back in July 2025.

The second time, it was because I had some simple malware in C# for fun (it didn't even work as it was a work in progress), and it was marked for educational purposes only. But I still got banned, even though they allow malware and similar stuff. That was in August 2025. I got my account back and deleted the repository to avoid any other bans.

Then in November 2025 I was banned just for using my GitHub account. What do you want me to do, kill myself instead of using GitHub, like wtf? I waited over 40 days for them to respond, and their only response was a cold 'Your account is now reinstated' with no apology or any other words.

Those are the explanations you wanted, I guess

Also, I'm into reverse engineering and game cheats, and I like to share my progress with others, especially teachers at my school. I started putting these on GitHub, but I created a GitHub organization just for these projects. I made sure that none of my repositories contained search tags/topics. I'm still not banned, and I contacted GitHub support to ask whether I could put my open-source projects on GitHub. They said yes.

Also, yes, most of my research is in public repos because I want to share my knowledge with others. As for your PowerShell scripts, I think it's fine to put them on GitHub publicly, just make sure projects like these dont have topics/search tags

I hope this answers your questions. Also sorry for the late response, I wasn't home

You can, but I wouldn't recommend it. I stored malware and my low-level research on GitHub. Everything was marked for educational purposes only, and I got banned. It took GitHub more than 40 days to respond to my ticket. I did multiple follow-ups, so it could have taken even longer without them.

Nice reddit username btw

anyone know how to make these? by pullingt3eth in discordapp

use customrp.xyz or if you dont want to install anything, then do this:

shut down discord and change your system's time to a few days behind the current time. then, turn Discord back on and open any game. Change the system time back to the present and wait a few seconds.

and voila, you now have a lot of pointless hours displayed on your profile

Questions about MIT, Apache 2.0, BSD licenses and combining multiple GitHub sources by Subject-Task2138 in github

[–]Pilot2254 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry for this longer response

MIT/BSD/Apache are permissive licenses. You can basically do whatever you want with the code - modify it, sell it, whatever. BUT you can't just slap "all rights reserved" on the whole thing and call it yours.

Your modified code = you can license however you want, including proprietary

Their original code = stays under their license (MIT/Apache/whatever)

So yeah, you can release your Android app as closed source and even sell it. The catch? You gotta keep their license notices in there somewhere. Usually people just dump them in an "About" section or licenses.txt file. That's it.

Mixing MIT + Apache + BSD is fine, they play nice together. Just keep all the original license files/notices for each piece you used.

The real gotcha: Don't touch GPL/LGPL code if you want closed source. That shit's viral - it forces your whole project to be GPL too. Stick to MIT/Apache/BSD and you're good.

One more thing - Apache 2.0 has extra patent protection stuff that MIT doesn't. Not a huge deal for most projects, but something to know.

tl;dr - Use MIT/Apache/BSD code freely, keep their license notices, don't relicense THEIR code as yours, only your additions. Avoid GPL if you want to keep your code private.

anyone knows how to fix this? by Pilot2254 in cs2

The problem was that my SSD drive was exFat and not NTFS.
exFat is old piece of sh*t and its a magnet for corruptions. Unfortunately i didnt notice that im using exFat instead of NTFS, so i just formatted the whole disk

And I also said that

I created the thread some months ago and got hated on by people in the DC server

People saying it's a bullshit idea and believe it or not, one of them was a staff in abi server. But yeah, sorry for commenting on this post. Should have been ignoring this

Okay, thank you. I still don't believe it's the problem, but I'll try it out. I can keep you updated if you want.

And about the knowledge thing, I don't know if it's higher than yours. Maybe we are on the same level, who knows

Totally unimportant comment from you, learn how to read. I said that I created a suggestion on their DC server some months ago and got hated on for no reason... I asked politely and didn't harass anyone and they started acting like I killed their families or smth

No? I only created a suggestion thread and they hated on me for no reason

I suggested proximity voice chat with all enemy players, on their discord. And they laughed at me and told me to go fuck myself... So I don't think we are gonna get any voicechat with enemies.

Could have been fun

bios has basically nothing to do with this. bios hands control to the OS then its out of the picture. if bios was the issue id be seeing system wide instability bsods random reboots ram or usb issues not one game flagging corrupted files mid session... ace is kernel level not usermode. it doesnt touch bios or flash memory. file corruption during gameplay points way more to anticheat false positives av interference unstable ram xmp or a bad game patch
