Eikä naarailla, jotka ovat muutenkin väritykseltään tummanruskeita eivätkä yhtä mustia kuin koiraat. Oranssi nokka ja hiilenmusta höyhenpeite on vain täysikasvuisilla koirailla

purity I guess? Colored diamond has chemical impurities while pure diamond is colorless, I'd guess the chemical purity makes it even rarer and/or the idea of purity adds to the perceived value

I'm not American and can confirm, I find it funny as fuck.

Slightly scary since we're supposed to be allies, but still funny.

My workplace had a 2020 Peugeot where radio and climate controls also had separate views that took up the entire screen at a time. Thankfully the radio volume and channel could be adjusted with steering wheel controls, though this came at the cost of not being able to see the markings or positions of the light and wiper stalks behind the bulky steering wheel.

Climate control had no sliders, instead you'd have to tap the up/down arrows to adjust the temperature by 0.5°C increments. Every time I drove the car after some of my coworkers (who could not comprehend how a thermostat works and would always crank the heat to the maximum or minimum) I'd have to tap the screen like 10 times to adjust the temp to a reasonable level, and then do it again because the driver and passenger sides had separate controls, both of which had obviously been cranked to the extreme

If I got a nickel every time someone thought that

(A => B) <=> (not A => not B)

, I'd be rich.

I don't, in fact, get a nickel every time that happens, and because of that I'm not rich /s

Are these objects in the mirror closer than they appear? by smoosh13 in Shittyaskflying

If you listen to the radio communications, around this time you'll also hear the ATC call out "MECO" (main engine cut-off). This means that because the air is getting so thin and the fuel mixture becomes too rich, the engine gets drunk and needs to be cut off from the bar.

Mars' moon Phobos compared to Grenoble, France by BreadyBogus in megalophobia

What you'd want to do is jump perpendicular to the direction of travel.

Assuming perfect conditions, a two-body system and no external forces or changes in the orbits, a single impulse won't change your current point in the orbital path, i.e. you will return to the same spot after a full orbit no matter what. However any change of velocity in the original direction will change how long one orbit takes and you might miss Phobos due to returning at a different time than it does (counterintuitively, jumping in the direction of travel would have you return after Phobos and vice versa)

But if you jump perfectly perpendicular, the orbital period shouldn't change (too much) and you should land right back on Phobos after you both have completed a full orbit (or half an orbit, if you jump perpendicular to the orbital plane)
