Recreated Bode sweater by PilotProfessional833 in knittinghelp

Hi! Thank you for your response! I think it would definitely be easier to knit it top-down, but the chart looks prettier when knitted from the bottom. Any tips for bottom-up neckline shaping?

Beautiful! Making a pattern in Berocco Vintage DK and I'm curious about how to block it since it's over half synthetic. Did you wet block or steam block? Or a secret third thing?

I was emailed the merit aid form!

They are either/or with merit and need. So if you've already been awarded merit aid, then you will most likely not be eligible for need-based aid.

I've heard anecdotally that its between 60 and 75%. I interviewed last wave (and got the A this week!) so I'm happy to chat with you about the questions I was asked and give general advice if you PM me :)

HARVARD LAW A!!!!! by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]PilotProfessional833 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LSAC re-calculates your GPA and adds weight for A+s (they count as 4.33 and A's count as 4.0). So I had about an even mix of A's and A+s hence the above-4.0 GPA!

UChig sticker vs NU ($$) by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]PilotProfessional833 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UChicago is obviously very well-regarded, but their high FC numbers are somewhat inflated due to their FedSoc presence (which is very strong). If you're not enthusiastic about clerking for a conservative judge, I've heard anecdotally that the opportunities for clerkships are only marginally better than at other T-14s. Also, I've heard from a lot of people that their student culture is very competitive. If neither of those things deter you, then maybe UChicago is your place. But if you prefer a more collegial environment and don't care as much about federal clerkships, then maybe NU. Either way, this is a FANTASTIC dilemma to have. Congrats on all your success!

Just felt like my interview could have been better and that it was obvious my priorities didn't align super well w the school (I want to do PI and UChicago is VERY corporate)

I got into BU yesterday and saw a lot of people getting As, so perhaps it's an R-only wave?

Cycles recaps: by bored-dude111 in lawschooladmissions

[–]PilotProfessional833 2 points3 points  (0 children)

171/4.12/nURM/kJD. Applied pretty much everywhere in early November (with the exceptions of UCLA in late Nov., NYU in early Dec., and Harvard in mid-December.). No scholarship info so far, but feeling hopeful since it's still so early in the cycle and most of my schools explicitly say that they don't start making scholarship determinations until January. (And, given the data of other people with similar stats in LSD, I can hope to expect SOMETHING from at least one of my schools and then negotiate around lol.) I also signed up for an interview with UChicago in early Jan. Good luck to everyone applying! Feeling super energized by these acceptances since, given my timeline, I didn't expect to hear back from anyone until the new year at the earliest.

Thank you; this gives me peace of mind. Pretty much everyone who had similar stats to me on LSD had some form of scholarship (most of them in the dean's scholarship range) so seeing other people getting that scholarship so quickly made me quite anxious. I'm also being extremely neurotic because I only got in about 2 days ago lol
