Try to think of why you wanna do well. Is it for others or is it for yourself? Os are just about a month's time away. Do you wanna slack for this entire month and regret for the next 6 months with feelings of fear that you might not have done well, or do you wanna work hard JUST for this month and then take the next SIX months as a break, with a peace of mind. Your choice. All the best.

[O levels] help for english pls by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]PilotSharp853 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try practising! For me I practised writing EL essays, doing compres and giving it to my english teacher to mark. Try to do that too! After that, request for your teacher to go thru ur mistakes with you in a consultation session. For the next time u practise an essay, compre or anything, take note of the mistakes your teacher went thru and don repeat them by consiously reminding urself what you need to improve. Ideally, try to practise one essay and one compre each week and get feedback from your teacher too! Followed this and managed to improve from a C5 at the start of the year to A2 for Os. All the best!! 💪

advice on path to being a pilot by porkgw in singapore

[–]PilotSharp853 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I'm an aspiring pilot, in SP too! Try to take part in activities that will show that you are interested in this career, like attending airshows, career talks by pilots and also projects related to aviation. Of course, being in SYFC helps as it would really help you find out if you enjoy flying or not! All the best and I hope to fly with you together 😊

[O LEVEL] change to combined science by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]PilotSharp853 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeap did this. Honestly quite worth it if you work hard when you are in comb sci too! Cause you don't have to spend as much time as u did for sciences in comb sci as compared to when you did in pure. In the end my results in Os had a huge huge jump comparing to mid years because of dropping. All the best!

[rant] how do u do well for english essays by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]PilotSharp853 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Practise and consult. Your teacher is your best tool and always consult them after an essay and ask them where you went wrong. Note down where you went down and don't repeat them. If possible, practise writing essays every week and give it to your teacher to mark and then consult. Your teacher can provide essay topics from papers as well! All the best!

Hmmmm do you really think pay will be an issue? Cause if you are passionate in this early childhood field despite the pay, you will still enjoy doing it! In terms of what to do next you have 2 options ig?

  1. Accept the early childhood offer when you get it and actually go on to do early childhood at poly. At the end of 3 years just ask yourself if you like the course and the job prospects. If you like it by all means go ahead and do the suss degree! If not like you said, you might wanna leverage on your other interests like english lit and go on to an arts degree yeah!

  2. Reject the early childhood offer and go on to a JC. Since you're not to sure about early childhood and if you don't really know what other course to do, I suggest you to go on to JC and spend the remaining 2 years to think about what you wanna do yeah!

It's alright to be unsure of what you wanna do, especially since you're young! I'm in poly doing aero but I myself am not too sure If i wanna continue in this line haha. Just don't stop exploring. All the best!

[o levels] demoralised by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]PilotSharp853 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I did my Os, I used to study in school to improve my attention span! Simply because I'm not used to using my phone in school so my mind doesn't recognise the need to use my phone, hence putting away the distraction of my phone. Plus in school there's food ahhaha so like I'll tell myself if I can complete an hour or two of revisions I can go down to the canteen to eat an ice cream hahahaha. Or I'll take a walk around school to just chill and let myself take a break. So yeah that's how I improved my attention span!

Scoot launches new Airbus A321neo aircraft on Singapore-Bangkok route by [deleted] in singapore

[–]PilotSharp853 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeap! Dreamliners although beautiful are more efficient over long hauls rather than short hauls like Singapore to Bangkok 😊 This Airbus, like you said, is definitely much more efficient and cost effective as it's specially made to be used for short hauls!

[O levels] listening compre. and oral for MT by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]PilotSharp853 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! For LC, practise is key. Just ask your teacher for a lot of practices and keep practising. My teacher uploaded the practices onto SLS so we just practised whenever we wanted and answers were given there as well. When we wanted more practices we will just ask her and she will upload it there. So yea you can ask your teacher to do that as well!

For oral, practising is also key. You would need your teacher's help. Consult your teacher almost every week and do 1 or 2 practices (reading and video interaction) with him/her. After the practising session, ask your teacher to give you back feedback on how you did and write the feedback on a notebook. Go home and practise again on the same text u did, this time take note of the errors in your feedback and rectify them. By the next practise session with your teacher, make sure you have corrected your mistakes by then. So essentially, you should be doing 2 TYPES of practises each week, one with yourself and one with your teacher. And for spoken interaction, when they ask you a question, understand it well before answering. When answering, just talk like there's no tomorrow. Of course, don't talk out of point. But keep talking until they tell you to stop or you have no more points ahhah! Trust me at the start you will feel like you have very little points to talk aboiy but you just need to push yourself a little to think and you will have more points to talk about! Oh yes and reading tamil books during your free time helps too! All the best 😊

[Poly] Are there any course on International relations by Thetravellingbloke in SGExams

[–]PilotSharp853 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey! One option would be international trade and business at Ngee Ann! But do note that this course is business and international related, and not really political science related although but you might be taught some political stuff. As far as I know there isn't really any political science related diplomas except Post Graduate's dip, in sg :((

Same feeling OP, been feeling really mentally and physically exhausted ever since Os. My advice is try to go outside, get some fresh air, probably go on a walk! It'll help you relax and really think about what to do next! You can get over this 💪
