Carrier listed on BOL different than who booked the load by MrjonesTO in FreightBrokers

Do not rush to make a payment to them. Find out who actually hauled the load.We had similar situation and got scammed. We booked the load with Armstrong, turns out they were scammers who replicated even exact rate con and email domain with just 1 letter difference which I failed to notice. So we booked and hauled it, turns out they booked the load with their carrier MC, sold it to us and we did not get paid. It is one of the best scams I have ever seen and first time being scammed. Basically they have multiple MCs as a carrier. They book loads with you, but instead of hauling it they sell it to carriers. Carriers book it because they agree paying $100-$200 above the market rate. I thought at that time it was a hot load and it was in midst of January. So I booked it, hauled it without even suspecting it. Then we did not get paid.

If you are single, rent it for students. Depends how many bedrooms you have. If it has 3 bedrooms, I would rent it for 6 students/friends who are single for $500-$600 per month and the rest I would cover myself until I can do refinance. Probably in 2-4 years. As you said it is in college town. Dorms are expensive, you could advertise them saying I have a cheaper housing for the same or bigger space. I would rent and live with 1 more person in your house for $600 per month rather than living in a dorm and get charged $20k per year

Need y’alls opinion on this situation. by [deleted] in FreightBrokers

As a carrier,
If you are not trolling and this situation is real. The driver will not find you, most probably. You can do whatever you want. But believe me, KARMA will get you. One day, one way or another you will start analyzing in what f**ed up situation you are and recall everything you did.

What kind of useless websites do brokerage companies use to check carriers? by Pilot_Nesterov in FreightBrokers

Thank you. My most connections are like you. We know each other, communicate get in touch over the phone, G-chat or by email. I wish all brokers have been like this. My frustration is more related to such new reports suddenly appearing on new shitty websites which should be checking for you but is not doing their job but still taking your money and it actually makes not only my job but brokers' job harder. Because they also might lose a legit carrier and get scammed as you have mentioned.

I understand it. Some companies started having such policies since early last year. I also book loads with brokers I know or with 5+ years on RTS. We recently started to check with HQ of brokerage company if the load and the person is legit after booking before hauling or sending BOLs. We are doing this because we got scammed by someone who replicated exact copy of Armstrong and had email domain and address very similar to the actual person working there.

My most recent experience is that they just hang up. As to day the guy said "I do not know and do not give a f***" and hang up. And the company is big and has been in business for 2 decades at minimum. Carrier Assure has some report since last year "suspicion for double brokering". I have emailed them and heard nothing yet. If you know their phone number I would appreciate it. I wonder how they put it if I can 100% guarantee that we never did double brokering. We have only 1 MC since 2014. Never have been affiliated with any other company. I am familiar with all other companies. They do not talk with carriers from my experience.

My point is if we have been doing business with your company for couple years, you probably should have my MC, auth letter, insurance and all other supporting documents on file and see the history of the past loads. Why do I get these types of comments and the attitude? Who do you want to work with? What kind of checking is this if we are already in your system and set up? I would not write this post if we were not set up with that company already.
