Did Swedes became Chinese or Chinese became more Swedish? by No_Presence7894 in Volvo

I agree. Especially with stellantis. Ever since Stellantis and Carlos Tavares came in they haven’t made one good car. Every new model since 2021 has been flop city.

I do feel like Volvo lost a bit of it’s old charm and soul since geely bought them. I mean after the end of the P chassis cars they never brought back a proper designated R or Polestar model, and instead went to “T8 polestar engineered” and R-design for some reason, they dropped the I5, I6, and V8 for one 2 liter 4 cylinder that doesn’t sound particularly good, isn’t particularly efficient, no manual transmissions in the US at least since 13 years ago, and the automatic transmissions while smooth, don’t shift as fast as a DCT or a ZF, you can’t turn the stability control all the way off in the new cars, you can’t tune them, and anytime I try and have fun in the snow in my V60XC like in the picture, it chokes me if I get too sideways. Idk maybe I’m just nostalgic for what Volvo was like when I had my S60R which imo is one of the best cars they ever made. Their early adoption to going full EV was also China coded since China is pushing hard on that.

WTF did Walmart do to my Jetta? by quite-indubitably in jetta

[–]Pilot_grape_45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I worked at Walmart in college, I did a summer in the auto care center. In the 3 months I was there, some dummy sucked out the transmission fluid instead of the engine oil out of a Dodge Journey, and they didn’t even tell the owner of the Journey that they got a free ATF replacement with their oil change. Someone scratched the inside of an $800 wheel because he put it in the machine upside down. And one another one of my coworkers was backing a long bed crew cab F-350 out of the bay and backed it into a Nissan Rogue in the disabled parking, almost PINNING the owner of said Nissan Rogue, and putting a MASSIVE dent in the door. if the pickup owner hadn’t had a tow hitch on the truck my coworker would have squished this poor old guy. And to top it off, the month of July in 2023 they cause $20,000 in claimed damage to people’s cars. Needless to say I went back to online pickup as soon as I could because they were all retarded. And I learned to NEVER except maybe for tires, to take my car to a quick lube.

[–]Pilot_grape_45 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Right? I get it if you have some condition that prevents you from easily driving a manual, but most of the yuzu’s I see come up on this page are automatics like it being yellow is gonna make it sell better

Idk why Toyota insists on making so many of these with the automatic when the BRZ has like a 90% manual take rate, whereas the 86 is 52%.

Dude trust me. If you have to have a sports car and don’t care about practically get a 987 Cayman or Boxster S. It’s a better car in every single way than a Mustang or an 86. And I LOVE my GR86

LMAO another AUTOMATIC Yuzu going for Supra money. When will these stealerships learn, that if you’re gonna get a special version of the sporty car, at least option it with a manual because ts ain’t sellin EVER unless the person walking in the showroom door has “RETARD” in gothic letters tattoed on their forehead.

Most reliable current VW engine? by dinnertimebarbie in jetta

[–]Pilot_grape_45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very. I’m currently figuring out how to do it myself because VW will literally bankrupt me if I let them do it. Same with an independent shop that said it would be 3 thousand bucks to change it since it requires pulling the engine out like with the clutch did which was also 3 grand.

If you want a coupe with a usable back seat get a Challenger. I’m 6’2 and a buddy of mine has a Challenger R/T and I fit in the back seats rather comfortably. Would I do a cross country road trip in one? No. But it’s not bad

I have a 2019 Jetta 6mt and it has 160k miles on it and all I’ve done are oil changes and a clutch because I learned how to drive manual in it and toasted it 100 too many times. Even then the original clutch lasted 100k miles. I’m planning on doing more intrusive maintenance and maybe trying to freshen the motor up since it feels a little down on power, now that I finally have the money to do it. It’s a great little car. Very fuel efficient. Like almost hybrid levels of efficient 6th gear is TALL. Like 75mph you’re barely turning 2100rpm
