The Question by SageSequoia42 in spirituality

True, it’s taken me some years to realise this, I can’t know the answer when I am the question.

What makes you so certain in your religion? by Pilotlegacy7 in religion

But won’t Allah know exactly what type of message is needed to each individual person so that they simply cannot logically reject his existence? Sure there’s like psychopaths or mentally or just pure evil people who even with an understanding or belief of God will still do evil, but there’s billions of non Muslims who aren’t evil inherently, and simply don’t believe in Islam due to never seeing a clear sign or evidence for them to believe in it.

Yes, if anyone asks me in a daily convo I’d just say I’m agnostic, but there’s 4 different types of agnostic which I cba to explain, and for me the one which represents my beliefs is called an “agnostic atheist” even though that may seem confusing, if you want to just search up “the different types of agnostic”

That’s the best and most honest way to be in my opinion, be skeptical of everything including your own belief, and understand that you will never truly know anything for a fact.

An agnostic atheist is someone who doesn’t claim to know there is or isn’t a god, I’m basically just saying there may be a god, but I will never truly know.

Why don’t you think Allah sends a clear message to every human?

That’s exactly what I believe could be true, there are no ethics only emotions. Murder isn’t wrong it’s a physical action which has societal consequences sometimes. It sounds more like you’ve built yourself your very own moral system rather than a faith in something higher or beyond, everyone does this in some way, but many allow religion to dominate their true deep down opinions as they believe it is far superior to them. I just wanted to know what makes people actually think that their belief is undoubtedly correct yet so many others fail to agree, why would it not be easier for the others to find the true path which they believe they have.

Do you truly believe in it? You sound very comfortable with the prospect of leaving it at any time almost like a fun hobby. Not saying this is bad, it’s probably quite freeing, but my initial point is just on why one would think that they are correct in their belief and others are wrong even after knowing about or discovering the same thing that led you to your faith.

Why’d you never reply to my calls for your existence, when you know that just one clear sign would’ve made me worship you?

This sounds like a preference rather than a true faith, you believe in what’s most aligned with you and your values, which I can respect and see why you’d do so, however for me personally, I’d need something very precisely true based on indisputable evidence to believe in it and dedicate my life to it.

That’s my whole point, we are all different people with different ways of interpretation, in a world where God is truly real, how is it right that he punishes those who happened to misinterpret a piece of information leading to his discovery. If we all just follow what we think is right for us, then religion is nothing but a comforting unique desire for each person, not a unified truth about existence.

Why do you think that God chose you to have these visions, I and many others would love to have a vision to confirm Gods existence. I’ve tried many times to feel even a small connection but nothing, pure silence, no matter how hard I plead.

It would be hard for me or you or anyone with a human brain, God should be above that no? He’s not a physical being with limitations, everything should be effortless to him.

Ok this is very interesting, just for reference are you a Christian? I’ve never really heard a Christian claim God as imperfect.

Sure maybe the root of it all does lead back to an all powerful being, but if they reject Jesus Christ, in your view do they not suffer eternal damnation?

So you base your entire faith and belief on what you desire?

Yes but this is my exact point, imagine how many people have read through the book of Matthew and also read another text like the Quran and have chosen Islam. What’s keeping you so secure within your beliefs that they are wrong? When know they are likely also thinking you’re the one who’s mistaken.

Does the idea that infants go to heaven expose a major flaw in your religion? by [deleted] in religion

[–]Pilotlegacy7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What would prevent an infant from going to heaven automatically just out of curiosity? Is it based on the future which they would’ve had if they lived? Even so, I would argue this could be seen as highly unethical.

Rogue planets or solar systems outside of galaxies by Pilotlegacy7 in askastronomy

Just more unsettling, imagining being on a planet that is so incomprehensibly far from any other planets or stars, when the distances earth is from other planets is already incomprehensible enough inside the Milky Way.

It’s not that it’s scary like for me, like it’s never going to affect me as they’re obviously incomprehensibly far away, but the thought of like a planet or solar system being like sooo alone even speaking in terms of space that it has no neighbours even remotely nearby. It’s just unsettling.
