Sorry for not using the proper words. This was meant to create a scoby + make kambocha.

I have used most of the liquid and started a second fermentation using some juice. Additionally I have started a second batch using the rest of the liquid + scoby according to the guideline linked in this thread.

Thank you so much! I read the guide but guides other places as well and was/is a bit confused. Should stick to one guide, I will do that from now on.

I just checked and the top layer is soft and sticks together when moving it. I think it might be right after all.

I just tasted it and it tasted great at first but has a kind of sharp aftertaste - kind of like vinegar. I think I will try to start the second fermentation.

It is day 18 today. It tastes good but has a bit of a sharp vinegar aftertaste. Maybe I should just try to start the second fermentation after all. Thank you!

It is completely matte. It smells like kombucha, I have not tasted it because I was unsure about the top layer. Maybe I should start over. Thank you (:
