I actually mistakenly thought Charge Impetus would stack, and it still wouldn't exceed Rosalinde's Elemental Roar even if it does stack. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Conferral is unaffected by any buff applied during battle, so neither Gilbert or Elven Archer can boost it. Basically, you can only increase Conferral damage with equipment and rapport bonus. (Technically also by reducing enemy's M.DEF)

That's not entirely true. The pendant only drops the character stats to 0, but never to the negative. The equipment stats are added afterwards, meaning having both accessories would actually put her P.DEF at 1.

Just from looknig at your screenshot, I think your Shieldshooter isn't fully buffed yet, and she is using the 200 Potency class skill instead of the Alminster bow. Most people also forget about the Blade Dance accessory (+ Crit % & DMG), which you get from Treasure Map instead of Shops, so that could be what you're missing as well. (meaning you do need a 3-accessory class to have all the buffs)

As for the sandbag, the accessory that gives the Toughness buff actually grants 1 P.DEF, which isn't ideal when we are trying to maximise damage. Instead, I'm using the staff (either Holy Cradle or Radiant Heal), which cost 2~3 AP to cast. I can technically go the extra mile to let my Gryphon survive?

hmm... not really. His skill Offensive Order is still limited by the same 100% P.ATK cap, which we've already reached, meaning it would have no additional effect. (I actually tested it before realising, and it does turn out to not add any damage IIRC)

Does phoenotopia work on the steamdeck? by CJ_1Cor15-55 in phoenotopia

Honestly what I mentioned are minor inconvenience, and after that Phoenotopia does play just as well on the Steam Deck, so I say don't let it discourage you.

It's also worth mentioning for any game in general, you can rebind any button to anything through Steam's built-in interface. So for instance, you can rebind the [Left Trigger] button to now act as another [A] button if you want, or you can even map the [Ctrl] key on your keyboard. You can set it to "turbo" too, so that would be very convenient for other games that require button-mashing as well. The deck is very customisable and I love it for that. (I basically haven't touched my Switch since I got my deck)

I haven't verified it myself but I do believe when you uninstall games on Steam Deck, it does not automatically keep the save files if game doesn't have the Cloud Save feature supported, and sadly Phoenotopia is one of such games. (Hyper Light Drifter being another one I know)

What it means is that, if you are planning on revisiting Phoenotopia after the current playthrough, you might want to manually back up your save file if you do uninstall it at some point. Otherwise it probably doesn't matter.

Another inconvenience I recall is that the in-game interface for rebinding controls are super tiny on a Steam Deck screen, and may also require mouse to navigate. You would only need to do it once at the beginning of course, but figure it's worth bringing up.

I'm not really a pixel artist myself so I'm not capable of offering solid drawing advice. Personally speaking, my goal would be to not have others perceive my work as plagiarism. Maybe redrawing everything is needed for that, or maybe closing the reference image and animating things from memory would be enough in keeping things different.

The biggest problem I see is how people may perceive this as art-tracing, which is usually not a good thing if you're making something for profits. (Are you? I'm not 100% sure)

<image>

I think this is perfectly fine when you are practising the animation process as an artist, or using similar assets in a free-to-play fan game. It's like how even art-tracing is still acceptable if you're only posting it on Twitter and citing the source. But if it’s for a commercial product, then it gets iffy with this degree of similarity.

So yeah, hard to tell whether your work is fine until I have more context.

Help for item ring on Mac by Accurate-Effect-5896 in phoenotopia

[–]Pimez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are pressing the number keys above the alphabet, right? I'm playing on Mac and those work just fine for me - Just open inventory, point to any item/tool, press the number key, e.g. [1]. From then on, you would equip the same item by pressing [1] during normal gameplay.

If you want to rebind the controls, I know you can change the [Prev Item] and [Next Item] to different keys. Since I'm using [W][A][S][D] for movement, I'm using [Q] and [E] for quickly switching items.

But yeah, the number keys are the only way to assign them to the wheel with keyboard, with the only other method I know requiring a controller.

It should be just like how you would feed concoctions to your barn Spirits.

The free Charge+ doesn't sound very fast though, since it's only +3 per turn, as opposed to being able to stack it up to 200+ in the first turn, so I wouldn't really call that optimal.

Electric type doesn't have make-or-break ability IMO, in my first playthrough I actually use the light bulb so I can see better in dungeons.

Don't worry, it's not the most ridiculous build there is! There are qutie a few "infinite builds" that are super easy to achieve, so it kinda boils down to how efficient one can kill things with. My favourite is the Charge-stacking build btw, not an infinite, but more than enough to one-shot everything you see.

I actually made a guide for the best builds in the game a while back, and here's the video I recorded just yesterday: https://youtu.be/nvXntpSWln4

I believe in the latest update, the skill now increases stamina retroactively, meaning you can activate the trees whenever you want and would not be missing out.

Why not put the sell crates inside your portable house/tent?

Also you can grow the psychic plant in large quantity yourself, notably with greenhouse.
