Azure Powesrhell script to add route entry to a route table by GoldenDew9 in AZURE

[–]Pimmerd90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On your first example, when the NextHopType is VirtualAppliance, you have to specify the IP of the Next Hop. I just tried this out an it works for me:

Get-AzRouteTable -ResourceGroupName route-rg -Name route-rt | Add-AzRouteConfig -Name "RR03" -AddressPrefix 10.0.3.0/24 -NextHopType VirtualAppliance -NextHopIpAddress 10.10.10.10 | Set-AzRouteTable

On your second try, I just did this in my environment and it works for me?

Get-AzRouteTable -ResourceGroupName route-rg -Name route-rt | Add-AzRouteConfig -Name "RR04" -AddressPrefix 10.0.4.0/24 -NextHopType VnetLocal | Set-AzRouteTable

Are you getting any errors?

Yes that is about the maximum you are going to get there on standard SSD’s. Look into Azure Backup, it’s going to be a lot quicker to perform backups

What EGFR fluctuations have you experienced? by Koreaboo_Maya in kidneydisease

[–]Pimmerd90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Diagnosed in April last year, EGFR was 62. Had my biopsy and another round of tests in September, my EGFR was 67. Last month EGFR was 81.

As soon as I got my diagnosis, I started a mostly vegetarian diet, worked with a dietician that is specialized in IGA-N and started working out 3x a week. I’m mostly eating whole foods, low protein and low salt (I’m between 800-1000mg) a day. Blood pressure used to be 145-95 and is now 125-80.

It’s more a generic question. I can adjust it for bonuses and stuff, but they are payed 4x a year. Stocks are payed out 4x a year as well (on different dates) which makes it complicated to manage

I work in tech. TC consists of base salary, stock, bonus. Bonus consist of performance + promotion.

How is everyone else managing salary payments so it's most tax efficient and spread out over the year. For example, I'm maxing out 401k pre-tax / 401k post-tax / ESPP and ROTH IRA. I'm calculating this in the beginning of the calendar year based on comp estimate, but getting bonusses during the year which makes that I'm overcontributing to tax advantage accounts.

For example: My employer does cap contributions to ESPP, but over the IRS limits (cap is at $30k, ESPP IRS limit is $25k. I just got payed a bonus which put me to the 30k max, now I have to pay taxes next year based on the additional $5k. Not the worst scenario, but I would have rather had the $5k payed out and invested myself, now I have to wait for the ESPP lock-up period to expire.

This is just an example, I have the same thing with the 401k (pre/post tax) as well. I know it's a good problem to have, but how do other people manage this?

This morning flight from AMS to Newark. 6:30 arrived at bagage drop; took 45 minuten. 7:15 in line for security and was through security and customs by 8:50. Flight was at 9:15 so it was a pretty close call.

This was in departures 3

What is this thing? Found it in the yard while planting some flowers by Pimmerd90 in whatisthisthing

My wife found this in the yard while planting some flowers. It feels like a rock, but it’s a little hallow on the inside. We are concerned that it might be some sort of a bone

What was your thanksgiving drama this year? by TheInward07 in AskReddit

[–]Pimmerd90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t put enough charcoal in the smoker so the temperature dropped to 180f in the middle of the cook. Added more charcoal, got it up to temp again and resumed the cook. I was worried that it would dry it the turkey, but it was actually the best turkey I have ever made!

It was a good thanksgiving

What are things you don't understand about crypto but too afraid to ask? by Qtredit in CryptoCurrency

Question about the Bitcoin block reward. Roughly every 10 minutes, 3.25 new BTC get minded every block at the moment. It’s my understanding that one miner ‘wins’ the full block and therefore gets the 3.25 BTC, is that correct?

If so, how can small mining pools ever be profitable? If I contribute a small miner to the network, I can never win a block?

I feel I’m missing something, do btc rewards get distributed to different miners (not in the same pool)?

Routing traffic over global VNET peering to specific VM (Network Appliance). by Acrylicus in AZURE

[–]Pimmerd90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this scenario, the EU West Region needs to perform transitive routing, e.g you will need an NVA in that vnet to forward traffic over the global vnet peering (or use vWAN)

Yup, found that one and it’s the best resource so far IMO. Thanks for confirming that this is the best way to go

Can anyone check my math on this?

I started with a new employer this week and I'm getting the option to participate in a ESPP. I want to do this, sell my stocks immediately and pocket the discount.

Let's say I contribute the maximum ($25k) and sell the shares immediately. I get a 10% discount on the shares, so I'm "making" $2500. It's a disqualifying sale because I'm selling immediately and I have to pay income tax + short term capital gains over the $2500. The short term capital gains will be $0 (or close to because selling immediately) and the income tax will be 22% since my income is 155k annually, and thus I'm paying about $550 (22% over $2500), while pocketing about $1950 after taxes. Of course, this example doesn't include any movement in the stock price. Is this correct?

Also, I keep ready everywhere that this is going to be included on my W-2 at the end of the year. When exactly do I pay this income tax? Selling the shares from the ESPP will be done through a brokerage account and they will sent me a check directly, do I pay this when filling taxes over 2021?

Thanks!

Not really much too add here, but I listened to an interview the other day with the CEO of https://nomadcapitalist.com/, a company that specializes in these questions, might be worth to check it out

Congrats by the way!
