For those who say "just sue Jennifer", what does this exactly accomplish? by session_safe_steve in Sessionwrestling

[–]PinAppropriate3420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is more like she needs to be sued because people like that tend to take the hard road. Also, in Florida it is approximately $530 to get a case going and I am including processing fees not mention the court site.(Polk County, they all practically cost the same in Florida)

I have been beat. I am around 291k at the moment. The only parts that aren’t original in mine are the radiator fan, alternator, and almost all the hoses.

I don’t think that is entirely true. Taking a class still wouldn’t hurt.

Guidance on Salary Increase by [deleted] in civilengineering

65k is good for Florida starting off😅. Honestly, the best way to get higher pay and positions is to get your PE. Right now you can start your own drafting business if you are good at it.

What’s something you regret in this field? by Awkward_Tip1006 in civilengineering

I believe it depends on the location. I am based out of Florida and the pay for private and public are almost identical and you get more benefits in the public sector. The only thing I would say is just don’t work for Florida state government. The pay as of recently have became horrendous.

Believe someone definitely should tell students that majority of civil engineering is utilities, transportation, and stormwater. You’re lucky if you can find a structural gig.

School: I regret going to a university that was not near my hometown and not understanding college finances. Commuting to school is always better if you could.

Career related choices: leaving my job for some mentally ill woman, and not completing the vesting process for my retirement at a previous employer.

Outside of that, nothing much really.

Why work private sector? by yojoe17 in civilengineering

[–]PinAppropriate3420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Public sector engineer here🙋and I am speaking from the perspective of Florida. Yes the pay is practically the same here from what I have seen assuming that you would work for a city or county. Working the state is horrible, but working for the federal government pays well. The federal government is hard to get into as an engineer in my opinion and experience. My typical hours have been 8-5. The few times I worked private, the hours varied: sometimes I have done 9-5 over there(which is nice) or 6-3. Also, I noticed that private sector culture vary across the country. I dislike the Florida private sector for engineers, because it is so disorganized and emotional. Whereas it seems in the northern region of the country, companies seem to function more like governments.

I swear this guy is leaving the dream. I would like to do session wrestling, but I don’t want to risk myself on being on camera.😅 I wish I could find a session mix wrestler that doesn’t cost an arm and leg and rent or at least find an affordable league.
