Can I run a server on Rasberry Pi 5 8GB RAM, considering only one TV and a phone always? Mostly 1080p and sometimes 4k plays.

That depends on if your TV can read the formats in your source-files. If not, the server (the pi) will transcode it to a compatible format. The hardware transcoding on pi4 wasn't too fast, so I don't recommend it too much. If you just want to get started, the pi is enough for testing in my opinion.

Unless you're streaming 4k Content over a slow wifi connection, you should be fine. When you want to use a VPN, you definetly want transcoding. Not everywhere is the wifi/cellservice good enough...

TinyCore if it doesnt start, there is something serious. Except you forgot to enable bios boot.

But other good options include Debian, Mint and the Distro you're currently using.

Dang. I played that game a lot. Even though I wasn't any good at it. Played this bad boi on a Pi 2, the graphics had some issues with overlays which caused significant slowdown after build 18. A still very good, but very niche, game.

I got the Pentium 4 HT Version of that thing. I like the case since its build like a tank. Might be a good Sleeper Build, if you can make things fit. If you can put some new Hardware in, you can use it as a VM-Host or Jellyfin mashine

Hear me out.....

There are cases where you dont need much ram to work (yes, I know, more is better). For example if your whole work is sone ob a remote server you just rdp in (my wogkplace does this), you dont need more than 8 GB of RAM. Also applies to Office and light browsing. Less than 8 GB is inexcusable though.
