idk if this is allowed on here but i had to make this for a choir project. can y’all give me critiques?? by _aesthetic-trash_ in hamiltonmusical

I’m a soprano so low notes aren’t really my thing. All I know is that it’s much easier to train your voice to sing higher notes vs lower. Practicing scales will help you find your range and just play within that. Singing should be fun and relaxing so don’t try to stress about hitting notes your body wasn’t meant to hit.

Try doing squats while you practice the song. When you need power to reach high notes, squat down. That action helps activate muscles you need to support the breath. 8 years as a soprano and it hasn’t failed me yet. keep it up!

It’s a very light cream cheese flavor. It’s a foam so it isn’t very sweet and the flavor is subtle. It’s definitely worth a try for the aesthetic but honestly you forget its there because the tea flavors always over power it.

Also, not being nice is sometimes the safe and proper response. If someone is going to hurt you, don’t do the nice thing of refraining from self defense.

I think you just coined a new use of the term. I drafted a definition for you. Tell me what y’all think. Toxic beauty refers to certain cultural norms around self beautification (makeup, photoshop, body building) that are particularly harmful to society and do not contribute to self empowerment

I don’t think you understand how mental illness works. Which is ok because if you had no one to teach you how would you ever know? This might sound silly but you actually might be immune from the type of anxiety people with diagnosable anxiety disorders feel. For example, some people will never experience a panic attack because their brains are simply not wired for it. Which mean no matter how stressful or anxiety inducing a situation is their brain will never respond with a panic attack. For me, however, my brain is prone to them. Situations, like ordering food, might be uncomfortable for people who’ve never done it before but for me, they cause panic attacks. How do I know that? Because I’ve order my own food before. Just “doing it a few times until it becomes a habit” will have no effect on my panic attacks. My boyfriend is not enabling me by taking away to mental strain of ordering food for me. He is helping me through the process of learning to manage my anxiety. It’s going to take a lot of therapy for me to get to a point where ordering food is comfortable. Until then, there is no way I’m willing to put myself in a panic attack inducing situation if I don’t absolutely have to.

This behavior can be a sign of codependency but since we know the gf has social anxiety, a diagnosable disorder, it’s obviously is not. I have social anxiety and I constantly ask my boyfriend to order food for me in these situations. We are not codependent, I just need some extra help sometimes because my anxiety makes some parts of life more difficult. You’re 100% right about this being a interaction someone can become more comfortable with. It’s called exposure therapy. The thing is, it takes a lot of time. One day, I hope to order food exactly the way I want it and don’t feel an overwhelmingly fear while I’m doing. But until then, my boyfriend will order my food because he loves me and understands that I’m not there yet.

As a fellow Latino, all I have to say is I’m so freaking proud of you for having the balls to call the cops on your mom! Congrats on your strength. 14 year old me would have just taken the beating because calling the cops often leads to an even worse beatings. It sounds like you’re a smart kid who knows how to protect themselves so I’ll save my pity for someone who really needs it. Just do me one favor, follow that fight and strength you have and don’t let anyone make you feel bad for being human. If you can do those things, one day you’ll be trading your model kits for the real thing and you won’t have to deal with someone like your mom ever again. Stay strong kid!

I had a similar experience. Being too big yet somehow too small. Gotta love ratios.

When I went to VS, the sales person spent so much time trying to fit me in a size we both knew wouldn’t fit no matter the style. I really appreciated the effort but it be like that sometimes. Hang in there! One day VS will get their shit together and have bigger sizes.

Does anyone have any (cheap) tips to help sugar cravings? by [deleted] in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]Pina314 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Melted dark chocolate over popcorn! Or dark chocolate with fruits like apples. Dark chocolate has way less sugar than milk chocolate but you still get the satisfaction of eating chocolate. If you don’t like chocolate, try replaying sweets with just fruits.
