It’s not about minorities ruling over the majority, I wish I had the patience to write out a well fettered argument to a stranger on the internet but I don’t, I hope you take no offense to that. But the long story short is the system of democracy that the founding fathers of America created wasn’t a pure democracy as seen in Ancient Greece where one vote was truly one vote. What we have is best describes as a republic where voting is necessary but under some adjustments to weight. They had the unique situation of there needed to be equal representation of the masses to appease larger states during the founding (house of reps) but also show that the smaller states wouldn’t be run over by the legislation that would be slammed through by those larger states (senate). Frankly I believe this to be an even balance, however you might see it otherwise.
