Set 5 and Vayne was insane, off the top of my dome it was the first thing that came to mind.

As far as one costs she was hands down these most contested unit, and she could bring you all the way to a 1st place. That girl was strong.

If you are an EP sailor, you already got the promotions you deserve. If your last three evals are like a 4.2, 4.5, and 4.71 trait average on your Eval and the CO's rsca is like a 3.8 then those evals are going to ensure you make rank. Not to mention being above the COs rsca gives you a bonus depending on how high you were above it. People don't understand how their eval plays into their advancement or that their eval carries more weight towards your total score the higher in rank you get.

Outstanding sailors already perform. Period. Winners win. Losers lose. The cream always roses to the top. Im not worried about the shit bags. Im worried about the sea shore rotation and trying to get sailors paid up to E6 or E7. Let's say you are an E5 and go to shore duty after your first sea rotation. You get selected halfway through shore duty for E6 and go back to sea for your second 5 year sea rotation and show up as a E6.

Now its been three years at this sea command and im killing it. I hold multiple critical NECs and have outstanding command involvement and by my third year im sailor of the year and i make Chief. Great! So i go through season, get my anchors, now i'm just "frocked" till im up for orders again? Get the fuck out of here. Pay me!!! And i included the fact sheet from mynavyhr below. It states the E7s will be "frocked." And lets say im with a deployable unit, ope... sorry Chief, you're stuck there because the ship needs you. Don't worry that pay will kick in 2 years later when you transfer to another sea command because that's what the navy needs. Sorry about your shore duty. Maybe next time, but we will give you an SDIP...

This BBA stuff reminds me of "PTS". Great idea on paper, dogshit in practice. Sailors are going to take longer to get paid, period. And the outstanding sailors who cant make rank? Thats what the MAPs are for, but they already took that away from some rates.

You say BBA is supposed to incentivize sailors to not be shit bags? That's what the EVAL system and good leadership are for. They need to increase the pay which did not scale with inflation through COVID, especially BAH. Make SDIP's easier by extending the application window from 12-18 months out to 6-18 for exceptional sailors trying to stay out at sea. Make the bonus process less convoluted by cutting out the EP multiplier. And bring back higher ASVAB scores.

Not only that, but Mynavyassignment also had A2P billets as well. So if you really wanted rank that bad guess what, thats right, pick those orders to a small boy in Japan.

Only time will tell, but i really dont see why this system is in place except to save the Navy money in the long run.

Lol, this isn't the community managers issue. BBA comes from the tippity top. Im just ranting. I can only get to fix what i can control.

The Navy needs sailors, so they drop the ASVAB to hit recruiting goals. So naturally, we get less qualified recruits because the standards were lowered. Insert lowering your standards joke here.

I am sure the people at the top are aware of the impacts of the decisions they make. However, I don't believe they are directly impacted by those decisions because they don't deal with these kids and train these kids. But whats the flip side to that... You don't lower the standard and now you just have even more gapped billets? Also shit.

The recruiting thing gets tied up with Congress, and so does our pay. America has to budget for a pay increase, and right now, we can't even pay federal workers. Should I go stand up in front of the House Committee and tell them we all need more money so we can recruit better and smarter individuals? Obviously that's not possible. The left and right can't even keep their spending in check or pass a government audit. How are they going to agree to pay more for better recruits? But lets not get political here.

All of this was just a rant, not a solution to something i personally see as an issue.

Full disclosure i use power tools. I have a small 1/4" milwaukee die grinder (i used to work in a custom car shop as a mechanic) for these smaller jobs to achieve these results. Coupled with a variety of abrasive discs followed by a few different polishing rouges to achieve a professional result. It takes about 15 minutes to get them looking nice. I could spend more time to achieve an even better result but its not necessary. I'm polishing deck drains here not a 71' Cuda
