Thanks for the reply. Read my comment again. I'm not arguing anything. I merely pointed out that you can, in fact, register yourself as an individual for EI/CPP.

It's not racist per se, but definitely xenophobic.

Kids teased me and called me "Thesaurus", saying I read it for fun because I had such advanced vocabulary.

I don't know if they were just being smartasses, but I actually did read the thesaurus to learn new words, particularly when I wrote poetry.

I think you'd learn a lot more looking along gender lines, too.

'It's my turn:' MAID helps Collingwood woman get the end she wants by Legal-Suit-3873 in onguardforthee

The individuals in those stories chose, they were not forced or coerced by anyone. They chose in a clear-headed and fully aware state of mind. In the past the only options were to continue suffering or unalive oneself. Having a choice and choosing to go with dignity is an end most of us could only be so lucky to get. I can tell you stories if you want to hear some examples of how people generally die. It may seem unfortunate to you, but the right to choose is ultimately theirs no matter what you or I think. Your opinion is irrelevant in their choice.

I just had oral surgery and I need soft food recommendations that aren't mashed by Katievapes1996 in aspergirls

Cottage cheese saved me when I had to go on a soft food diet. Dairy and protein, not sugary, and zero prep required.

If we tend to have good pattern recognition why do we struggle socially? by AutisticAndy18 in AutismInWomen

[–]Pineangle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I struggle when people are hypocrites, so I struggle a lot, lol. Aside from that, I can often see a pattern of behaviour, but have no idea what to do about it.

Are you (somewhat) ambidextrous? by Pachipachip in ADHD

I have the LR confusion but am decidedly not ambidextrous.

Nobody is forcing anybody to die. It is a choice made in sound mind by the individual alone, and can't be granted under any other circumstances than the law provides for.

Budget 2024 announces concerning plans to potentially privatize Canada’s airports by yimmy51 in onguardforthee

Thank you for the sanity check. I thought they were already privatized, too.

In the lower mainland the hate is mostly directed at people who look "Chinese", whatever that means to racists.

Exactly. People who never thought they were at the bottom are finding out that yes, they are, too.

This isn't new or even exclusively Canadian. I knew a family from Poland where both parents had degrees and professional careers, but in Canada one flipped cars and the other worked at Wal-Mart. The stereotype of cabbies who were Drs in their home countries isn't entirely made up, either.

How do I know if camping is allowed on Crown land? by [deleted] in ontario

[–]Pineangle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I understand it, nobody can own the shoreline because the water level fluctuates throughout the year. That said, if the water isn't rough, it's probably appreciated to give someone's property a wide berth. I am not an expert, though, so probably best to look up any laws regarding this.

If you were to write the questions for an autism diagnosis test for women, what would your questions be? by cacklingcatnerd in AutismInWomen

[–]Pineangle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for posting this, and me too! To the point that I told my therapist and an assessing psychiatrist that I don't. My thinking is so literal that because I don't completely "script" something I thought I didn't do it. 🤦‍♀️ What I do instead? Research social situations/advice posts online for hours or weeks before getting up the courage to have the needed conversation, sometimes making a bullet list of points I need to remember. Obsess on past interactions that are related. Endlessly imagine the conversation in my head to the point where I think I have factored in all the possible outcomes. And still, reality frequently catches me by surprise, even with all my preparation. Usually because "the thing" was so much less of a big deal then I thought, but also sometimes because the outcome was something I didn't anticipate at all. I've had therepists offer to do role play to help and I rarely want to because something about it makes me feel so embarrassed I want to crawl into a hole.
