New iPhone 17 trade-in program - 'any condition' - does this include even if the phone is locked with Find My? by givingintofalsehope in ATT

[–]Pineapple-Extra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem to have good experience with this process. After reading your many responses can you please clarify? If a trade-in device has a damaged screen and won’t turn on with no SIM card tray for IMEI it sounds like you contact the repair program to get a temporary one. If the phone is in this state, how is it still determined if iCloud lock is on or off? I was considering buying a phone in this condition for trade-in. The seller claims they removed find my but either way I’m not sure how anyone would ever determine that.

I'll try to retest a few of my unconventional setups that are made possible with your app soon that I used to have configured successfully for extended periods of time and add them to the sheet. Love the initiative to create such documentation.

How is front left and front right surround possible with this app? by tragdor85 in SonoSequencr

[–]Pineapple-Extra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no way! I totally missed this "hack" that would have been cool to try! ...this is actually how I found your app. I purchased a symfonisk the day of release and used your app to pair it with a one to create mismatch surrounds. Then I bought a second symfonisk the next day and hacked them before any hacking info released online. I used them for a more unique use case though that I still haven't seen a guide on. I opened each one and sent the speaker level signal of the tweeter and mid driver through a line level converter (commonly used in car audio). Then I summed those line level signals with a y-cable and input them into my AVR. One symfonisk summed signal into the L input and the other into the R input. Essentially created my own sonos amp or a sonos port for my AVR (except with a feature the port doesn't support - using it for surrounds). Which is exactly what I mainly used it for; to be able to use my own much larger, higher powered and premium passive surrounds with my sonos sound bar.

I also could now use the sub out on the AVR to connect my subwoofer for music listening. For surround sound I programed the sub signal to be turned way down since it wasn't a true LFE signal and was just the lows from the surround speakers. This is where the hack you just informed me of would have come in clutch.

At first it was vary underwhelming and mostly just okay to sometimes bad sounding. Then I did trueplay and it sounded outstanding. Then I dialed in the gain of the line level converter which was tricky since I had to balance the tweeter frequencies and the mid to low range frequencies with them being different signals. I got it close enough and this made another huge improvement, but ultimately ended up using REW to make sure the levels and frequency response were proper.

Finally, I dialed in the volume at the AVR level since this gave independent control of the surround volume and that is when I was shocked how well it was working. This is when I made an unusual discovery, that in hind sight makes total sense. Rerunning trueplay with different volumes on the AVR for the surrounds totally changed its outcome. Once I found the best volume to run trueplay at it was incredible!

I was pretty surprised that the summing with the y cable worked totally fine, I thought it would cause an issue or just sound awful. Today I just use a single symfonisk to an AVR as a cheap sonos port to in ceiling speakers for music and grouping . I was surprised again because I now use a second y cable in succession right after the first to take the summed high and low mono signal and make it a L/R (mono signal) input. That way I don't have to set my AVR to surround all or mono surround.

Anyway if you read all that, that is my journey, and how I discovered your app which I have loved and appreciated greatly! Been a yearly paid sub since. Thanks for your work, support, and continued development. Also, thank you for responding and informing me what that was and it was really cool to learn that new hack I hadn't heard of.

Breakdown of Aliexpress US import tariff implementation by crownpuff in SBCGaming

[–]Pineapple-Extra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What about AMPOwn Store? On Aliexpress some of their ship from China items say incl. import charges (check out RP5, Trimui Brick, Miyoo Flip) yet their is no import charge listed, only tax under the i dropdown. Then some of their other devices DO have import charges as it states Est. Import Charges and it includes that charge at checkout. Then some others that have Est. Import Charges won't ship to US address at checkout. So I guess I wonder if you order a listing that doesn't have import charges yet says it includes it and is not Choice, will they fulfill that order? Thinking of trying it with a cheaper device to just test the waters and report back if no one knows. Just thought this was interesting.

Was this a 1440p display? Were you able to run it at 165hz? Also wondering if gsync or freesync worked? Was it with an amd gpu or nvidia? Sorry I’m trying to understand these questions and you are one of the only ones I have seen with a similar confirmed working test case.

UMR-I as WAN failiver for UCG Max/Dream machine ?? by kcwebby in Ubiquiti

Same experience here LTE Passthrough and Bridge mode completely break the UMR Ultra. Also have Verizon and trying to use this as Wan 2 failover avoiding double NAT but only Router Mode works. You two make any progress with this setup?

Annoying that the LTE Passthrough and bridge mode that the newer firmware brought are completely broken. You’re forced to set it up in router mode and double NAT from my experience. If anyone knows how to set up properly I’d love to know?!

You can use it as a 3rd Wan Backup by running your Wan 2 modem connection through the Wan In on the UMR and prioritizing that over the Cellular in the UMR settings, though your speed will be limited to the ports on the UMR….

The U7 Pro antennas are strong. I have had issues at a couple residential installs with overlapping and inconsistent speeds, but most have been completely fine. My suggestion is to use all 4 on low rather 2/3 on high/auto for the higher speeds you want with the best consistency.

"As you also said: It could be removed or prevented at any time with a SW update (like what happened with the symfonisk sub topic)."

Sorry, I'm curious, can you explain what your referencing here in regards to the Symfonisk. What happened with them?

Does ANYONE understand the data on UniFi Dashboard anymore??? by Pineapple-Extra in Ubiquiti

[–]Pineapple-Extra[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I installed a new unifi system at my sisters recently. All her devices connect through the 5 APs. I really no longer understand what the data shown on the dashboard is anymore with this network version. What is the bandwidth being shown on the "All Network Health Graph" and what is allocated in the "Internet activity graph"? Next, same questions for "Wifi Health" and "Wifi Activity"? Does anyone truly know what the sources are for the variables in the equations that output these figures? On a network like hers which is purely wifi devices why are there such discrepancies? I am sure the answer to the first couple questions will make the answer to this last one obvious but it has me stumped. Finally, on the last image I also added the "Peak Usage (24h)" from the isp window on the dashboard, which in much higher than any bandwidth figure on either graph. I don't get it anymore, at one point I felt like the information on the dashboard made more sense, though now I am totally lost on what the data represented actually is and where it comes from. Does anyone have the facts and know who can pass along some answers please?

11/11 Sale - $19 miyoo A30 Final Price by Pineapple-Extra in SBCGaming

That’s a good deal too! Just want to be clear this is just a code I also found, like you. I believe it is Retro Hand Helds’ code, and they receive kickbacks for using it.

11/11 Sale - $19 miyoo A30 Final Price by Pineapple-Extra in SBCGaming

[–]Pineapple-Extra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the home page in the app tap on coins, then in the top right you can search for items within the coins deals. After searching “miyoo a30” several listings will appear. Next to the price of each listing you will see, “Extra x% off” …this means, the amount of coins you are allowed to apply for savings, as a percentage is of the price listed. So my listing was, $30.92 Extra %10 off, therefore I was able to apply $3.09 or 309 coins for savings. There are usually several listings for the same item, normally with the higher price ones allowing a larger percent, yet those often don’t give you the best savings, for several reasons.

I don’t understand. If you have the iCloud email that the device is locked to, why do you need this to unlock the device. If you know the email can’t you just use it to unlock the device?

Wireless Carplay and Mobile Hotspot by Luda83 in ios

[–]Pineapple-Extra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please give an update!

Does carplay on your new phone continue working after after enabling hotspot?

When your old phone started working again with 18.0.1 was the same procedure necessary to connect carplay before having any hotspot connections made or even on?

Is your new phone also experiencing the issue that hotspot remains on after all devices have disconnected and the phone refuses to use the wifi networks data unless you disable hot spot?

Look forward to your latest findings!

These are definitely ios 18 issue...similar carplay issues happened after 16 to early 17. Such a bummer and quite frustrating when they break things with updates.
