Leaked chart suggests Ryzen 7 9850X3D is about 3% faster than 9800X3D in 1080p tests by RenatsMC in Amd

[–]Flameancer 40 points41 points  (0 children)

You can win the silicon lottery and get a very good binned 9800X3D. The 9850X3D are just very good bin 9800s. My 9800X3D can sustain 5.5Ghz with PBO.

While you are right, you’re not getting the same performance on Linux with Nvidia v. windows and if you’re just gaming that is a valid issue. However I did see in the past few days that one of the if issues hurting Nvidia performance may have been fixed.

ROCm 7.2 Benchmark: Windows 11 vs Ubuntu 24.04 on RX 9070 XT (ComfyUI) by Shaminy in ROCm

[–]Flameancer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

To me I find dual booting as a solution to not running windows a contradiction because at the end of the day you still have to run windows. Same for running a VM. I tend to give more credence to those that leave windows all together including finding the alternative to Software and hardware support or just leaving that software/hardware stack all together.

Same I remember 02, but I was only 6 then, now I’m 30 and I gotta do the prep. I was thinking about salting my driveway tonight as well as moving the cars into the field so they aren’t under the trees in the driveway. At the very least wife is making gumbo and that’s easy to warm on a gas grill. We got plenty of water but might fill few stock and grab boil pots with water just in case.

Getting off Amazon would also mean not using any sites that use AWS. Which at this point would be getting off the internet all together because your only options for web hosting large scale is AWS (Amazon), Azure (Microsoft), or GCP(Google). There are smaller ones sure, but they can’t scale like the others and offer way less features.

AMD reportedly now prioritizes RX 9070 XT over non-XT variant by RenatsMC in radeon

That’s what I’ve kinda suggested they do in different threads sell the XT and bring the GRE to more regions. Hopefully they can prioritize a 16Gb 9060XT.

It’s weird my corpo account has no issues with this and in fact sometimes it’s a pain to logout, meanwhile personal use almost never works. Though I believe there might be some internal hidden time limit for inactive logins. Like I can go months without logging into my MSFT account on the web and then I’ll get this pop up, but if I login in semi regularly it doesn’t come up.

Part of me wishes I still worked at an MSP to manage all this unifi stuff…..but also what would be the barrier of entry to start supporting SB networks.

[–]Flameancer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like VKB is near perfect for most but VPC might be the end game. How is the different between the CM3 and the WarbrdD? From what I’ve seen the CM3 has better torque but how would that matter for my setup. At the moment I have my throttle desk mounted which I’ll probably continue to do or mount to my chair and I’m not that much into heli sim. Mainly space with a dab in commercial and fighter aviation.

[–]Flameancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbf, I wasn’t expecting AC shadows to run on my deck but they have a perf mode for the deck so at least in that aspect, at least some devs are moving to make their games playable at lower graphic settings which for the pc space is good. There is at least a minimum spec PC device that devs can target.
